With Brett Cecil signing with the St. Louis Cardinals last month, the Toronto Blue Jays are in the market for a new left-handed reliever.
Javier Lopez, Jerry Blevins and Mike Dunn are just a few of the free agents on the Jays' radar, Ben Nicholson-Smith and Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca report.
Of the trio, Blevins is coming off the most successful 2016 season. In 73 games with the New York Mets, the 33-year-old posted a 2.79 ERA and struck out 52 batters over 42 innings
Lopez is longest tenured of the group and had been with the San Francisco Giants since 2010. The 39-year-old has made a career off being a lefty specialist, holding left-handed hitters to a .202 batting average over his 14 seasons in the majors. He struggled this year, however, posting a 4.05 ERA in 26 2/3 innings across 68 games.
Dunn, 31, had been with the Miami Marlins since 2011 and had a 3.40 ERA in 42 1/3 innings across 51 games last season.
As it stands, Aaron Loup, Matt Dermody and Chad Girodo are the only lefties listed in the bullpen on Toronto's depth chart.
