Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias was drawing interest from teams at the winter meetings, reports Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press.

“There’s been some interest and we’re listening,” Tigers general manager Al Avila told Fenech and other local reporters. Avila described the interest in Iglesias as "interesting enough there’s possibilities."

In 137 games this year, Iglesias slashed .255/.306/.336 with 26 doubles and 57 runs scored. The 26-year-old has a knack for making big defensive plays and was one of three Gold Glove finalists at shortstop in the American League, along with Andrelton Simmons and Francisco Lindor, who won the award.

The San Diego Padres, in search of a shortstop, are interested in Iglesias, per MLB.com's A.J. Cassavell. The Pads also have interest in infielder Hanser Alberto, who appeared in 35 games for the Texas Rangers this year.

An All-Star in 2015, Iglesias is eligible for arbitration for the second time in his career. He avoided arbitration last offseason, agreeing to one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Tigers in January. Iglesias is scheduled to be a free agent in 2019.
