ST. LUCIE 2, DAYTONA 1: Jeff McNeil stroked a game-winning single down the right-field line to score Champ Stuart from second base with one out in the bottom of the ninth. McNeil’s hit came on a 0-2 pitch from Carlos Gonzalez. The inning was set up by consecutive singles from Colton Plaia and Stuart. Each finished 3-for-4. After allowing 14 hits and 12 earned runs in his last start, Kevin McGowan rebounded. He limited the Tortugas to one run on three hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out three in a no-decision. Robby Coles earned the win by tossing two scoreless relief innings. Coles worked around Alex Blandino's leadoff double in the top of the ninth by coaxing a pop-out and an inning-ending double play. Each team scored its first run in the second inning. Phillip Evans' single plated Stefan Sabol in that frame. Box

GCL METS 8, GCL NATIONALS 1: Matt Reynolds played shortstop for the first time since June 25 while with Las Vegas. He had been unable because of an elbow strain. Reynolds went 1-for-2 with a walk and manned the position for five innings. Cesar Puello went 0-for-3 and manned right field for the second half of the game as a rehab assignment officially began. Puello had cleared waivers and was outrighted to Las Vegas on the eve of the season, but successfully argued that he had a back injury. The waiver move was rescinded and Puello instead was placed on the major league disabled list. Victor Moscote went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Box
