Walters perfect innings, the B-Mets scratched back against Kyle Simon in the eighth. With the score even at 3, Darrell Ceciliani hit a sharp infield single to first to start the inning. He moved into scoring position with his 29th stolen base of the season and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Following a one-out walk to Wilfredo Tovar, Alonzo Harris stroked a grounder to shortstop. Harris beat out the potential inning-ending double play, allowing Ceciliani to score the go-ahead run. Adam Kolarek worked around a one-out walk in a scoreless eighth before handing off to Walters for the ninth. Anthony Hewitt greeted Walters with an infield single and Troy Hanzawa lined a single to left, putting runners on the corners with one out. The right-hander fanned pinch-hitter Kelly Dugan and induced Albert Cartwright to pop out to catcher Blake Forsythe to end the game. Bradford (2-1) collected the victory, while Walters earned his 34th save. Starter Darin Gorski allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings in the no-decision. Box

Dustin Lawley had a leadoff single against Tyler Jones. Rylan Sandoval then singled with one out. Matt Reynolds drilled a game-tying single. And Shields ripped a single to left-center to score Sandoval and win the game. Lawley, who finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, had hit a game-tying solo homer in the seventh -- his league-leading 25th long ball. Shields finished 3-for-4 with a run scored. Domingo Tapia allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while walking three and striking out three in five innings. Randy Fontanez pitched two scoreless innings and fanned three. Carlos Vazquez picked up the win. He allowed one run and one hit in two innings. Box

BROOKLYN 3, HUDSON VALLEY 1: The Cyclones scored the go-ahead run in a three-run
Cecchini eighth on Rick Teasly's wild pitch, which plated Ismael Tijerina. Cyclones starter Dario Alvarez allowed one unearned run on four hits in six innings. In the fourth, Renegades cleanup hitter Oscar Hernandez reached on third baseman Juan Gamboa's fielding error and ultimately scored on Granden Goetzman's sacrifice fly. Patrick Biondi led off the eighth with a single. Brooklyn manager Rich Donnelly then elected to have Tijerina bunt, and Tijerina reached on an error. With two on base, a failed pickoff attempt advanced both runners. Gavin Cecchini then hit the ball deep enough to center field to drive in Biondi and even the score. With Tijerina on third, Teasly threw a wild pitch, allowing Tijerina to score to give Brooklyn a 2-1 lead. Matt Oberste followed with an RBI single. Cecchini extended his hitting streak to 12 games, the longest by a Cyclone this season. Akeel Morris tossed three no-hit innings, striking out five, and earned the win. Through 33 1/3 innings, Morris has allowed two earned runs while striking out 47. Box
