Minors 8.21.13: Binghamton wins division

LAS VEGAS 8, FRESNO 7 (11 innings): Eric Campbell's walk-off single in the 11th plated Lucas Duda as the 51s overcame a seven-run deficit. Daryl Thompson, signed out of the independent Atlantic League, loaded the bases in the top half in his organization debut but escaped and earned the victory. Kirk Nieuwenhuis' solo homer in the eighth evened the score at 7. The 51s had Brandon Hicks on third base with one out in the bottom of the 10th. With Wally Backman out of position players, Fresno walked Francisco Pena and Nieuwenhuis to load the bases for reliever Sean Henn. Backman countered by pinch hitting with starting pitcher Matt Fox. He struck out on a squeeze attempt and Hicks was retired at the plate for a double play, sending the game to the 11th. Starter Chris Schwinden allowed seven runs in four innings. Box
