          SACRAMENTO 6, LAS VEGAS 5: Stephen Vogt delivered a go-ahead two-run homer against Buddy Carlyle in the eighth after Carlyle inherited a runner at third base from Zack Thornton. Josh Satin went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs in the loss. Matt den Dekker tripled and had an RBI during a two-hit game. Box

          BINGHAMTON 3, NEW BRITAIN 2: Kevin Plawecki’s tiebreaking solo homer in the eighth helped Binghamton snap a five-game losing streak. He now has 19 RBIs in May. New Britain


          lastname Plawecki had opened the scoring in the fourth on Daniel Ortiz's RBI single against Tyler Pill. Binghamton answered in the bottom half. Matt Reynolds singled and stole second against Taylor Rogers. Plawecki then doubled to drive in Reynolds. An inning later, Travis Taijeron had a leadoff double. Following a walk to Wilfredo Tovar and a passed ball, the B-Mets had two in scoring position with none out. Kyle Johnson then rolled an infield single deep in the hole at shortstop to bring home Taijeron with the go-ahead run. New Britain came back in the eighth against Binghamton reliever Jon Velasquez. Corey Wimberly produced a two-out single and stole second. Brad Boyer then laced a double past a diving Cory Vaughn in right-center that plated Wimberly to knot the score at 2. In the bottom half, Plawecki homered for the second straight game. He laced Cole Johnson’s 1-0 pitch over the left-field wall for his third long ball this season. Chasen Bradford retired the Rock Cats in order in the ninth for his ninth save. Velasquez (3-2) allowed one run on two hits in two relief innings. He suffered his second blown save, but was credited with the win. Pill allowed one run on six hits over six innings. Reynolds’ fourth-inning single extended his hitting streak to 10 games. It is his second double-digit-game hitting streak this season. Pill has held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. Box

          ST. LUCIE 6, CLEARWATER 2: Dilson Herrera and Brandon Nimmo each had two hits and scored twice and Matt Koch improved to 6-0 as St. Lucie won its fifth straight. Koch took a


          lastname Koch scoreless effort into the sixth. He ultimately was charged with two runs on six hits and one walk in six innings. In the first, Jeb Stefan walked Herrera. Nimmo followed with an RBI double. After T.J. Rivera grounded out to advance Nimmo to third, Jairo Perez produced a sac fly. Rivera launched a double in the the third that plated Herrera for a 3-0 lead. It was Rivera’s Florida State League-leading 41st RBI. The Threshers (9-36) answered in the sixth, but a major mistake cost them a shot at tying the score or taking the lead. K.C. Serna doubled home Angelo Mora to put Clearwater on the board. After a bunt single, Chris Swauger grounded into a double play that forced home a run against Koch and made it 3-2. Art Charles then singled with two outs and Logan Moore doubled to put runners at second and third. However, Mets manager Ryan Ellis reviewed his lineup card with plate umpire David Arrieta and both had Moore batting out of turn. Andrew Knapp was supposed to be batting in that slot. Arrieta ruled Moore out and the rally ended. Phillip Evans capped a three-run eighth with a two-run double. Seth Lugo pitched the final three innings, retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced, to earn his third save. The Mets (29-19) moved a season-high 10 games over .500. Box

          LEXINGTON 6, SAVANNAH 5 (13 innings): Humberto Arteaga delivered a walk-off RBI single in the 13th against Robert Coles to sink the Gnats. After rallying in the seventh to tie the score, the Gnats bullpen combined for seven scoreless innings before Coles surrendered the final run. Savannah starter Robert Gsellman struggled, allowing 10 hits and a season-high five earned runs through 5 1/3 innings. With Lexington leading 5-0, the Gnats charged back in the seventh. Reliever Luke Farrell surrendered consecutive bases-loaded singles to Matt Oberste and Jeff Glenn. With the bases still loaded, Stefan Sabol was forced home when Farrell hit Patrick Biondi with a pitch. Oberste then scored on Gavin Cecchini's sacrifice fly. Next, Glenn capped the scoring in the five-run frame by crossing the plate on L.J. Mazzilli's single. Reliever Tim Peterson followed with two perfect innings, striking out three, to give the Gnats a chance to take the lead in extras. Savannah threatened in the 10th inning when Glenn hit a one-out double against Farrell. Savannah, however, could not plate his pinch runner, Jorge Rivero. Savannah lefty Paul Paez put up two more scoreless frames for the Gnats before Coles stumbled. Jeff McNeil went 0-for-6, snapping his hitting streak at 14 games. Box
