          Minors 6.23.14: Taijeron HR paces B-Mets

          LAS VEGAS 8, MEMPHIS 5 (10 innings): Matt den Dekker produced a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th. Cesar Puello and den Dekker had raced home on the same wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth as Vegas tied the score at 5 and sent the game to extra innings. After inheriting a runner on first and a one-run lead from starter Logan Verrett in the top of the inning, Scott Rice ultimately surrendered a three-run homer to Scott Moore as Memphis took a 5-3 lead. Travis d'Arnaud flied out in his lone at-bat before being informed he was being called up. Juan Centeno entered for d'Arnaud as a pinch hitter in the fourth inning. A walk to Josh Satin with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth -- the fourth walk of the inning by Memphis -- had given Vegas a 3-2 lead. Satin's fourth-inning throwing error had allowed Randal Grichuk to reach base. Oscar Taveras followed with a run-scoring double against 51s starter Logan Verrett. Trailing 2-0, Vegas evened the score in the sixth on Brandon Allen's two-run single. Verrett limited Memphis to three runs (two earned) on five hits in eight-plus innings. That included one run surrendered by Rice on the homer. Box

          BINGHAMTON 12, READING 8: Travis Taijeron launched a three-run homer in a six-run first inning, Brian Burgamy homered twice to increase his team-leading total to 13 and


          lastname Taijeron Dustin Lawley contributed a solo shot. The B-Mets scored in each of the first six innings en route to their sixth win in seven games. Rehabbing Juan Lagares played all nine innings in center field and went 2-for-4 with a walk, RBI and two runs scored. Reading scratched out an early lead against Binghamton starter Rainy Lara. Peter Lavin hit a 1-1 pitch over right-field wall to make the score 1-0. The next batter, Aaron Altherr, doubled and scored on a single by Jake Fox to put the Fightin Phils on top, 2-0. Binghamton cashed in on Jesse Biddle’s wildness in the bottom half. After the southpaw walked three of the first four batters of the frame, Jayce Boyd blooped an RBI single and Darrell Ceciliani threaded a run-producing hit to the right side. Following Lawley's sac fly, Taijeron hammered a pitch to left field to make it a 6-2 ballgame. The B-Mets picked up where they left off in the second inning. Lagares singled to start things off and moved to third on a throwing error by Biddle. Dilson Herrera doubled to plate Lagares. The next batter, Burgamy, hit a two-run shot to extend the lead to 9-2. Lara went 3 2/3 innings. He allowed four runs on six hits in his first game back from the disabled list. Biddle (3-9) gave up 10 runs in three innings and walked three in the loss. Box

          ST. LUCIE 5, JUPITER 4: Jupiter put the first two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth against T.J. Chism, but the Brian Schneider-managed Hammerheads opted not to

Sharif Othman then grounded out to shortstop Gavin Cecchini to strand the tying run at second base. The Mets, now winners of nine of their last 10 games, trailed 3-1 in the sixth. Cam Maron blasted a two-run double against Matt Milroy to even the score. Aderlin Rodriguez followed with a two-run single. The Hammerheads scored an unearned run against Tim Peterson in the bottom half to move within a run. Peterson recovered by striking out Terrence Dayleg with the bases loaded to end the inning. Robert Coles pitched a scoreless seventh and recorded two outs in the eighth. Chism came on and got the final out of the frame by striking out Viosergy Rosa with the tying run at third. Kevin McGowan earned the victory in his St. Lucie debut. He gave up seven hits and three runs in five innings. All three runs came in the fifth. The Mets took a 1-0 lead in the second on Gilbert Gomez's sac fly. That score held until the fifth. Rehabbing Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich drove in Noah Perio to tie the score at 1. Three batters later, Matt Juengel gave the Hammerheads a 3-1 lead with a two-run triple. Maron extended his hitting streak to 15 games. Sewald recorded his second save in two outings. Box

          BLUEFIELD 7, KINGSPORT 2: Starter Andrew Church allowed four runs on 10 hits, a walk and two hit batters in four innings. Reliever Ruben Reyes allowed three earned runs in 2 2/3 innings. He surrendered one hit -- a homer -- one walk and hit one batter. Brandon Brosher had a two-run homer -- his fourth long ball in 15 at-bats this season with Kingsport. Box

          HUDSON VALLEY 1, BROOKLYN 0 (10 innings): Corey Oswalt tossed seven scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out eight, but the Cyclones fell in extra innings. In the top of the 10th, with Scarlyn Reyes pitching his third inning in relief, Coty Blanchard singled with two outs and stole second. Clayton Henning then doubled to left-center to plate the game's lone run. Box

          GCL METS 8, GCL MARLINS 3: Starter Adrian Almeida tossed three scoreless innings. Waldo Rodriguez earned the win with a scoreless fourth. Bret Mitchell completed the game with two no-hit innings. Alfredo Reyes, Manuel Hilario and Gregory Valencia had two RBIs apiece. Box
