Projecting the starting lineups for the Oakland Raiders heading into training camp.

OFFENSE

Quarterback (Derek Carr): The Raiders are building their team around the promising second-year quarterback.

Running back (Latavius Murray): The Raiders think Murray is ready to become a standout. He has 82 career carries and has averaged 5.2 yards per carry.

H-back (Marcel Reece): The Raiders reportedly are going away from using a fullback. Reece will still have a role in this offense, though.

Receiver (Michael Crabtree): He might be on the downslide, but at 27, he is salvageable. Crabtree is a legitimate possession receiver.

Receiver (Amari Cooper): A Rookie of the Year candidate, Cooper had an SEC-record 124 catches last season. An instant No. 1 weapon.

Tight end (Clive Walford): The third-round pick beats out Mychal Rivera because of his field-stretching ability.

Left tackle (Donald Penn): An anchor of the line.

Left guard (Gabe Jackson): A potential standout who shined as a rookie.

Center (Rodney Hudson): The shining new prize in free agency.

Right guard (J'Marcus Webb): The coaching staff believes in Webb, who didn’t play last season. He will try to hold off veteran Khalif Barnes and rookie Jon Feliciano.

Right tackle (Menelik Watson): The Raiders believe the third-year player is ready to take the next step. His toughness might be a factor in the battle with Austin Howard.

DEFENSE

Defensive end (Justin Tuck): Tuck had his moments last season. Not an ideal full-time starter at this point, but he can help.

Defensive tackle (Dan Williams): The Raiders expect him to set the tone in the run-stuffing game.

Defensive tackle (Justin Ellis): Second-year player has big potential as a space-filling run stopper.

Defensive end (Mario Edwards Jr.): The second-round pick from Florida State is further along as a run-stopper than as a pass-rusher.

Linebacker (Khalil Mack): The second-year player is ready to conquer the world.

Linebacker (Curtis Lofton): New middle linebacker has limitations but is a tackling machine.

Linebacker (Sio Moore): He is coming off injuries but is a playmaker.

Cornerback (Keith McGill): It was a big sign that McGill was working ahead of DJ Hayden at the minicamp. At this point, the 2014 fourth-round pick (McGill) is ahead of the No. 12 overall pick in 2013 (Hayden), as absurd as that sounds.

Cornerback (TJ Carrie): Carrie showed some promise in four starts as a rookie. He has a natural feel for the game.

Safety (Charles Woodson): That's Mr. Woodson to you.

Safety (Nate Allen): The free-agent pickup will start. He's average, but can still help.

SPECIALISTS

Kicker (Sebastian Janikowski): He had a bounce-back season in 2014, missing just three field-goal attempts.

Punter (Marquette King): The third-year player is getting a better touch. He had eight more punts downed inside the 20 in 2014 than in 2013.

Long snapper (Jon Condo): One of the best in the NFL.

Returners (Carrie, Josh Harper): This is a work in progress and will be figured out at the end of camp.
