Russell Wilson's baseball advice for Tim Tebow

Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.

Peter King of The MMQB recently caught up with Russell Wilson:

"Any advice for Tim Tebow?" I asked Russell Wilson, the former minor-league baseball player, about the man trying to get a minor-league contract after being out of organized baseball for 11 years.

"Hope he can hit a curveball," Wilson said.

Wilson was drafted as a second baseman in the fourth round by the Colorado Rockies.

"Baseball's pretty hard," Wilson said.

Stephen Cohen of SeattlePI.com has veteran defensive tackle Tony McDaniel making the team in his latest 53-man roster projection:

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound McDaniel has looked good since re-signing with Seattle last week and gives the Seahawks a solid veteran presence. [Quinton] Jefferson is a de facto end at this point. [Brandin] Bryant might not be ready to play right away, but he likely wouldn't make it to the team's practice squad, so they keep him here.

Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times takes a look at the Seahawks' long-snapper situation:

After Thursday's mixed bag of snaps from rookie Nolan Frese, it's no surprise that the Seahawks might be looking examining all options at that spot. But it might be a surprise to find out that one of them is linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis. The third-year player from Boston College handled a few snaps during a team session Sunday. Asked how he did, coach Pete Carroll said: "He was very careful, but the ball got there. We placed it down and kicked it. He did fine." Frese had both a low and a high snap in Thursday's game, the latter contributing to a missed field goal attempt by Steven Hauschka. The Seahawks have been looking for a new snapper since releasing veteran Clint Gresham in the off-season. Gresham remains unsigned.
