The U.S. Women's National Team and France are the leading favorites at sportsbooks around the globe as the FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off this week.

At Caesars Sportsbook, the U.S. is a +175 favorite to win its second straight World Cup title, followed by France at +300. Germany is next at +500, followed by England (+600) and Australia (+1200).

France has better odds than the U.S. at multiple European sportsbooks. In the U.S., though, Caesars Sportsbook opened Team USA at +250 on May 21 and has taken almost exclusively money on the Americans.

The U.S., which won the 2015 World Cup, begins its defense against long-shot Thailand on Tuesday. Caesars Sportsbook is offering the U.S. minus 4.5 goals against Thailand, which is 500-1 to win the tournament.

The Netherlands and Japan are each +1,400 at Caesars, followed by Brazil at +1,600. Canada, Spain and Sweden are each +2,000.

The World Cup kicks off Friday in Paris, with France taking on South Korea. The championship game is slated for July 7.
