WNBA betting tips for Saturday's playoff games

New York Liberty at Chicago Sky

Ruled out: Li Yueru (personal)

Best bet: Sky -9. While the Sky have lost three of their last four games, I think they will make adjustments and come out firing against New York. They only lost back-to-back games once this year and it came to the Storm and Aces (both Top-4 seeded teams in the league). Chicago is 15-4 against teams with a below .500 record in the regular season, third-best in the league. This is also the same team that went 2-0 in single elimination games last postseason so I think their experience will help them in this game. -- Jennifer LaCroix

Phoenix Mercury at Las Vegas Aces

Out: Diana Taurasi (quad), Skylar Diggins-Smith (personal), Shey Peddy (leg), Kia Nurse (knee), Dearica Hamby (knee)

Best bet: Aces -17. It rarely makes any sense to lay this kind of lumber in a playoff game but this is an extenuating situation. The Mercury are down their stars and even Peddy is banged up. They put a scare into the Aces in Game 1 but I think the tank is empty. Las Vegas should have a much better performance, as I believe Phoenix left all they had on the court on Wednesday night. -- Doug Kezirian

Best bet: Under 167. If the Mercury are forced to play without Peddy as well as possibly Taurasi and Diggins-Smith, there is no way they can put up the points needed to stay with the Aces. With that being said. this game could get out of hand fast which would mean Becky Hammon would want to rest her starters who play heavy minutes. On top of that the Aces have been focusing on their defense more over the last month, giving up 79.2 PPG since July 14 (86.1 PPG prior to that). -- LaCroix
