The college football games that will shake up signing day

In most instances, one game won't have a huge impact on a program's recruiting efforts. Prospects tend to look at the big picture, rather than a one-game sample.

However, there are a few matchups this season that could have a significant effect on the trail for both teams. Whether it involves two in-state rivals fighting over the same players (think Florida-Miami), two coaches facing different kinds of pressure (Ohio State-Michigan) or an upstart program looking to invade a rival's turf (Oregon-USC), these are the five games that could change the face of signing day.

Florida vs. Miami (in Orlando)
Aug. 24

This game will set the tone for both programs and start a narrative that could be hard to change.

If Miami loses, it will appear to be more of the same after last year's 7-6 disappointment. If new coach Manny Diaz pulls off the upset, the talk will be about the Hurricanes making a quick turnaround and propelling the program forward.
