2021 college football recruiting class rankings: LSU moves into top five

LSU has struggled to match its on-field success coming off its national championship run, but the Tigers are faring as strongly on the college football recruiting trail as they did a year ago.

After finishing with the fourth-ranked class in the 2020 cycle, LSU's 2021 class has broken into the top 5 thanks to adding multiple commits from the Bayou, including second-ranked in-state prospect Sage Ryan. Versatile, tough and agile, Ryan projects to be in the Tigers' secondary and gives their class 14 ESPN 300 commits.

Georgia also climbed within the top 10 with a pair of four-star defensive pickups in ESPN 300 DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins and top-25 CB Kamari Lassiter.

Texas' loss on the recruiting trail turned into rival Oklahoma's gain, as the Sooners added one-time Longhorns commit Billy Bowman Jr. to their class. Bowman, the 10th-ranked wideout, joins a class that now features four of the nation's top wide receiver prospects.
