Andrew Hendrix will have a familiar face coaching him at his next destination.
The Notre Dame quarterback and Cincinnati native will play his fifth season of football at Miami (Ohio), a source told ESPN.com.
Miami's new head coach, Chuck Martin, also just left the Fighting Irish after four years as an assistant, having spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Hendrix graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in pre-medicine in December and is immediately eligible to compete with the RedHawks this spring.
The 6-foot-1, 226-pound Hendrix, who redshirted his freshman year in 2010, saw action in 16 games for the Irish during the last three seasons, backing up Tommy Rees and Everett Golson. He completed 25 of 58 passes for 360 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. The dual-threat signal-caller added 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Hendrix was an ESPN four-star prospect out of Moeller High in the Class of 2010, and the No. 11 quarterback recruit in the nation.
