Hang on for the post-match presentation.

Vettori: "This is the first time for number of our guys in the subcontinent. Guptill, mcIntosh and Flynn have played reasonable well .. Today, we wanted to put up a fight .. We are a different team when it comes to ODIs; we have more confidence with the wins there."

Sangakkara: "Every Test match we go in thinking we are going to try to win it. The boys showed character to fight through the weather. Herath . to bowl 50 overs on this was incredible. He was our no 1 spinner in this test by performance. It shows that we are very well placed. Murali was bowling off two three steps and still picking wickets! Everyone fought and contributed."

Man of the Match: Mahela Jayawardene: "I am actually surprised that I have got the MOM. I thought it would go to Rangana Herath. Kumar is a great friend and he is a very good leader, the team is heading in a right direction."

Man of the series Samaraweera : "I am batting well this year. After 2006, I have changed my attitude. I waited two years to come back into the team; I scored lots of runs in first-class and changed my mindset; want to score every bad ball."

And that's it from us. Thanks for logging on.

  • The Sangakkara edge

Sri Lanka's captain has begun to infuse his side with his own brand of competitiveness, and the results seem to already be starting to show

  • Paranavitana fined 50% match fees

  • Naive NZ struggle to find the plot

As the team looks back at a one-sided series, there is more to ponder than just a spirit-sapping defeat. In the last five years New Zealand won just 12 Test wins from 40

  • Herath no more just support for Murali - Sangakkara

Kumar Sangakkara has said despite the 2-0 series win, the hosts were yet to reach their peak

  • Vettori lauds last-ditch effort

The New Zealand captain was obviously disappointed, but found the need to sift through the rubble and take the proverbial positive from defeat
