It's been a crazy week, we didn't know if we'll make the finals, whether we will be playing. Quick turnaround after a home semi but this group is ready fo anything. We were that determined, ready and hungry, and we showed it today. [Embracing last year's final defeat] Last year hurt, and we fell short in the final hurdle. We've been on the mark for the last few seasons but fell short. That drove us this season and we were pretty determined." She then congratulates the Sixers group, Cricket Australia and WBBL. "It gets bigger and better every year," she says. "I'm so proud of this team - what a team. This one is going to be special."

Hypocaust: "Deandra Dottin has now won player of the match in both the Women's T20 Challenge and WBBL finals this year. A penny for West Indies thoughts, as they head into a series against England without her services."

Ellyse Perry, the losing captain: "Tonight didn't go to plan but thrilled to spend six weeks with a wonderful group of people. Phenomenal crowd, so nice to be here. Even in that chase it wasn't going to plan but we felt every bit of support. To have this crowd comes to women's cricket game is fantastic." She then grabs the mic to congratulate Tahlia and the Strikers, and the WBBL organisers - stressing on the "quality" of the competition. Finally, she has a word for her own team, saying "sorry it didn't go our way." Special acknowledgement for Bolton from Perry. Bolton is tearing up but is doing very well to keep composure. She once again ends her speech with a thank you to the fans who came out in large numbers today and says she is excited for the future of women's sport. That was classy.

Post series presentation, being led by Sthalekar. She starts off with an acknowledgement of Nicole Bolton and Tegan McPharlin, both who have retired at the end of this game.

Deandra Dottin is the POTM for her fifty and two-fer: [Coming to the Strikers and winning] It means a lot to me. Been a long season for me after retirement. I've come here and bonded well. They made me comfortable. First time in a WBBL final. Fantastic. It is always good to get two of their top batters early to keep 'em on the back foot."

Now an acknowledgement for the match officials.

Now onto the presentation of championship medals. Young girls and boys presenting the medal to the players, very unique. Luke Williams, the head coach, gets a warm applause too. And finally, the captain, Tahlia McGrath.

Tegan McPharlin: "I couldn't have asked. This is outstanding. Bloody beauty. It's been a beautiful season - pumped we could do it this time. Family has been tremendous supporters of mine."

Madeline Penna, average of 54.20: "It feels way better (one year on). Way better. I spelt a lot of time this pre season. Have working with Dave on mindset stuff. I'm very hard on myself, when you don't do well you get messages in your DMs and that's never nice."

Megan Schutt, 27 wickets: "Absolutely buggered, ready for a nap. We didn't post the total we wanted and we had the best bowling attack in the league and we showed that. Dot ball pressure up early. I think we had that spirit."

Hypocaust: "This is the first time Sydney Sixers have been bowled out this season. A fitting way for the best bowling side in the league to clinch the title."

8.41pm Last year, they were in tears. This time the tears are back, but these are tears of joy. Perennial WBBL bridesmaids no more. Their target was just about par, but their bowlers stood up with the new ball. Despite a valiant attempt from Maitlin Brown, the Sixers just could not recover from their horrid start with the bat.

Don't forget Deandra Dottin's contribution either. Two wickets with the ball, but with the bat, it was her half-century that dragged Strikers to a total that was eventually defended.

Akram: "I thought 147 par score but early wickets of Healy Batez and Gardner set the victory for Strickers. Congratulations for them to win first WBBL trophy. They truly deserves it."

Sam: "This is not the first time the Sixers have lost a final in Sydney, they lost to the Heat back in BBL04 as well, in fact the two finals they won were not played in Sydney. (Home crowd pressure??)"

Dre: "Deandra Dottin always steps up in the final, even in recent fairbreak final she dominated it."
