9.54pm And that is the end of that. Another fabulous display of batting prowess on both sides, some stumbles and frailties too. But have you been entertained? Damn right you have. And there's more to come, with Australia rocking up for three T20Is and three ODIs, starting at the Ageas Bowl on September 4. There's no time to breathe!

From Andrew Miller, Alan Gardner, Danyal Rasool and Chandan Duorah, good night and thanks for coming Pakistan, very glad you are going hope with something to show for your efforts.

9.47pm Time for some presentations. Here's the Player of the Match and the Series... it's the Professor sweeping the board! "I'm really happy to perform when the team needed it," says Mohammad Hafeez. "[Haider] was under pressure but he expressed himself, the way you are playing, continue like that. Every player in the Pakistan team is trying to improve their power hitting, the management have kept us on our toes. Every match I play I give 100% and play for the pride of Pakistan."

Eoin Morgan: "It's an improvement in the bowling department but with the bat a bit more disappointed. We had to regroup when Banton was dismissed, through Moeen and Billings. But we continued to stutter when Sam got out. These are the games we want to be playing in in order to get better."

"I feel sorry for the bowlers in this series as we've been in lockdown and we're all rusty. Come the Australia series they will continue to get better. Banton has continued to show promise, and Moeen is a joy to watch, very elegant and experienced, and for him to be the cornerstone of the back end of the innings was great."

Babar Azam, through an interpreter, says: "Both teams played very good cricket, we had a plan, we bowled very well and Moeen played a superb knock. In the last over, one side boundary is very big. I thought him to bowl yorkers, one ball was very bad but I said koi baat nahin, that's part of the game."

Babar signs off by thanking the ECB for their efforts in getting the series underway. He's now off to Somerset to play in the Blast, which will be fun.

9.35pm And breathe! Pakistan secure a share of the series to end their tour on a high, and they did it the hard way, defending a score of 190 for 4 with every run proving vital. A triumph of youth and experience, with Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafeez starring with ball and bat for the old boys, and Shaheen Afridi and Haider Ali, on debut, proving the value of backing the kids. England will rue the errors along the way, but will be very glad of Moeen Ali's remarkable return to form. A 25-ball fifty is no shabby way to end your batting woes. And Tom Banton's latest statement of intent was 46 from 31 balls. If he hadn't run his skipper out, it would have been a near-perfect series for him...

Adv Abdul Rub: "I have 8 cases to appear tomorrow in different courts, from High Court to Court of Sessions, but i was busy with this thriller all the time. What a Match." Well, I'm relieved justice was served in the court of Old Trafford, even if tomorrow's defendants may be up against it!

Haseeb: "That's was totally a super-man rescue by only Wahab Riaz after nearly droped match by sarfaz missed stumping chance.. "

Usman Khan: "Pakistan is in UK for more than 2 months now and had just 3 complete games! Injustice "

Haris Rauf to Curran, no run, that's the length! A wide yorker, and Curran can't connect!

Full and fuller for this one I suspect...

m Ans : "its 1.30pm in pak ..thrilling match followed by thunder storm in multan what a combo "

Haris Rauf to Curran, SIX, back of a length, and launched over the covers! Curran has monstered that, high and hard! Well well ... it's still on!

Haris Rauf to Rashid, 1 run, dinked off the face of the bat as Rashid hops across his crease... England need two sixes now...

2
Haris Rauf to Rashid, 2 runs, swinging into the toes, battered to the leg side. They rush back for two, but the challenge is getting dicey now...

Haris Rauf to Curran, 1 run, yorker, excellent length, chiselled back over the bowler's head but mopped up by long-off

Haris Rauf to Rashid, 1 bye, a swing and a miss! Right in the arc for the mow, but misses out. England sprint the single and a direct hit would have been curtains for Curran
