Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Andrew Miller

Josh Philippe is Player of the Match: "It was nice to make some runs but it was a wonderful team effort, I did a lot of work with Simon Katich at RCB, and Finch, De Villiers, Kohli, I pretty much chewed their ears off about batting. Great to get the tournament off to a good start."

He is leading the Golden Cap standings too, not a bad night's work. That wraps things up for tonight. Gnasher is hacking out his report as we speak. But plenty more cricket to come today, not least the Lanka Premier League semi-final in Hambantota. See you then!

9.42pm Well... what a thumping. Set up by the Sixers' batting, with Philippe and Silk in glorious free-flowing form, and sealed by the bowlers, with Dwarshuis leading the line with a remarkable haul of 4 for 13. He was backed up by some exceptional catching, and aided by some questionable shot selection. It's back to the drawing board for Renegades, after their own thumping win over Scorchers on Saturday.

They did at least sneak past their lowest total in BBL history - 57 against the Stars in 2015, but the margin of defeat is a new record, and by some distance!

Dwarshuis to Richardson, OUT, round the wicket, t-i-m-b-e-r! All out for 60! That is an absolute massacre, and the Champions are properly up and running in this year's BBL after their false start on the opening night.

Dwarshuis to Richardson, SIX, absolutely Kane-ed into the stands! On a good length, right in the arc for a carefree tailender to give it a bit of yeetage!
