10.13 pm Well the Heat tail battled gamely but ultimately it was a top order failure that cost the visitors in the end. Scorchers bungled their last four overs batting in the first innings but it doesn't come back to bite them.
Player of the Match is Matt Kelly for his 4 for 28: "I certainly made it hard for us at the end but glad to have our senior pros and glad to get a win in front of the home crowd for the first game. We're not gonna get much cricket here unfortunately throughout the summer so to win in front of the home crowd is pretty special."

Behrendorff to Bartlett, 1 run, OUT, full on middle, driven to long-off for one but a second was never ever on. They have to run anyway to have any hope but the relay to Behrendorff is true and he whips off the bails before slamming the ball down in anger. Scorchers made this a lot more dramatic than it needed to be but ultimately close out a six-run win.
