Wyatt and Shaw guide England to big win

England Women 141 for 6 (Greenway 34*, Marsh 33) beat South Africa Women 85 (Wyatt 4-11, Shaw 3-17) by 56 runs
Scorecard

The defending champions England rounded off their disappointing World Cup campaign with a consolation win against South Africa at Warner Park. Lydia Greenway and Laura Marsh hit 30s to boost England to 141, but the target was well out of South Africa's reach as they surrendered meekly to 85. Nicky Shaw and Danielle Wyatt shared the spoils with the ball, taking seven wickets between them to script a convincing win.

The England middle order stepped up to shape the victory. Claire Taylor and Marsh added 30 for the third wicket before they were separated in the 11th over. Marsh and Greenway then added a quick 44 for the fourth wicket in just under five overs. Marsh was stumped for 33, off 32 balls but Greenway ensured she stayed till the end, remaining unbeaten on 34 off 22 balls. Jenny Gunn supported her in a stand of 32 off three overs to take England to a match-winning total.

There were no significant contributions from South Africa and the writing was on the wall when they lost half their side for 62 in the 11th over. Shaw, the medium pacer, took three middle-order wickets while Wyatt, the off spinner, cleaned up the tail to finish with 4 for 11.
