Gujarat Giants opted to bowl vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Gujarat Giants captain Ashleigh Gardner won the toss and put Royal Challengers Bengaluru in to bat at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Allrounder Anushka Sharma, who missed Giants' last two games with an injury, was back, while 18-year old medium pacer Happy Kumari was handed her WPL debut. Shivani Singh, who made her debut in Giants' last match, and left-arm pacer Rajeshwari Gayakwad were left out.
RCB, who are coming into this game with four wins in four games in the Navi Mumbai leg, were unchanged. RCB had made three changes to their XI in their previous game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, bringing Sayali Satghare, Georgia Voll and Rema Rawat into the XI.
At the pitch report, former India captain Mithali Raj said it was a "hard wicket" that was good to bat on and expected it to offer "good bounce" for pacers, adding that it may not help spinners. She also said there was a possibility of dew later.
Giants are currently third on the table with two wins in four games, while RCB are at the top of the table with a net run rate of 1.600. In the reverse fixture, RCB beat Giants by 32 runs, bowling them out for 150.
