Lonny Baxter, Maryland
Jason Collins, Stanford
Baxter had a rough start in the NCAA Tournament. He really struggled against George Mason, plagued by foul trouble.
Baxter has made up for it since, with 45 points and 28 rebounds in wins over Georgia State and Georgetown. He has been a force on the boards, playing aggressively without getting in foul trouble.
He has made up for Terence Morris, who has really struggled and was 1-for-11 from the field against Georgetown.
Collins has been a major factor for Stanford. Casey Jacobsen has received a lot of publicity, but Jason has been important as well. In the first three tournament games, the 7-footer is averaging 20.7 points (tied with Jacobsen) and a team-high 8.3 rebounds a game.
Baxter and Collins will be pivotal as Stanford and Maryland battle for a berth in the Final Four.
