Dream release Olympic gold medalist DeLisha Milton-Jones, 41

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Dream have released the WNBA's oldest player, 41-year-old DeLisha Milton-Jones.

The three-time All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist was among four players cut Thursday as the team finalized its regular-season roster. Atlanta opens Saturday night at San Antonio.

Milton-Jones has played in 499 games and became the WNBA's career leader in that category last season. She averaged just 2.1 points in 18 games.

The Dream also released 11-year veteran Roneeka Hodges and rookies Courtney Walker and Jordan Jones, who were both second-round picks this year.

In another move, Atlanta announced that Damiris Dantas will be suspended for the entire season while playing with the Brazilian national team heading into the Rio Olympics. The Dream will retain her rights and expect her to return in 2017.
