esports

FlyQuest earned a dominant 2-0 series victory over Team Liquid on Saturday during Week 6, Day 2 of the North American League Championship Series in Los Angeles.

With both teams drafting late-game team compositions, it was no surprise that the series started out with a near hour long game. Although Team Liquid had a large amount of survivability for the late game, only having AD carry Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin's Kalista as a damage threat meant it needed to get things done early. Despite find a decent lead in the early game, Liquid struggled to push its lead, allowing the game to push into the late game, with both teams picking up kills and objectives to keep things even. This proved to be devastating for the team as FlyQuest AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran took over fights thanks to his support Daerek "LemonNation" Hart's Morgana protecting him with Black Shield. WIth WildTurtle able to survive the large burst from Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer's Syndra as well as negate the enemy crowd control, FlyQuest took one final teamfight victory to close the game in 54 minutes.

Game 2 saw another slow start to the game with similar compositions, although FlyQuest opted for a double ADC composition, putting mid laner Hai "Hai" Lam onto Lucian with WildTurtle on Kalista. In response, Liquid went with Piglet on Tristana and Goldenglue on Orianna. The early game mimicked Game 1, with both teams having a hard time finding a lead. Eventually, FlyQuest surged ahead through superior objective play. With FlyQuest maintaining a lead for the majority of the game, Liquid's only hope was Piglet's Tristana who showed up huge in a 31-minute teamfight to pick up several kills and bring Liquid back into contention. Despite this, the large amounts of damage from FlyQuest's comp allowed it to take a teamfight victory immediately after to close out the game in 34 minutes to secure the 2-0 series victory.
