OG and Evil Geniuses posted upper-bracket wins Wednesday on the second day of the main event at The International 9 in Shanghai, China. OG, which finished atop Group B in last week's stage play, beat Newbee 2-0. Evil Geniuses, who placed third in Group B, pulled out a 2-1 victory over Team Secret. In the best-of-three semifinals scheduled to be played in Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, OG will battle Evil Geniuses and PSG.LGD will face Vici Gaming. The teams are vying for a record prize pool of more than $33 million, with the winning team to take home more than $15 million. In Wednesday's lower-bracket play, Royal Never Give Up defeated Virtus.pro 2-0 and Team Liquid swept TNC Predator 2-0.
