Epic Games announced that Travis Scott's "Astronomical," which debuted in a Fortnite event Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, set an all-time record for participation in the game's events.
In all, 12.3 million concurrent players witnessed the first of a series of concerts, described as "a one-of-a-kind musical journey" by the developer. The in-game viewership of Scott's performance eclipses the previous record set by a concert by Marshmello in-game in February 2019, which drew 10.7 million concurrent players. The End, which shut down Fortnite and sent players to a black hole last fall ahead of the launch of the game's new chapter, amassed 6 million players.

The 15-minute production was an immersive experience featuring songs by Travis Scott along with a light show and sensory experience sending players soaring through the sky and swimming through water, in what many players are calling Fortnite's most immersive event to date.
The event played out again Friday at 10 a.m. ET, and three more concerts will take place on Saturday. Performances are scheduled for midnight, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.
