Fantasy Insights: Conundrums galore for Rangers

A new stadium could change everything we know about how Rangers like Joey Gallo (right) might perform at home. Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Spring is here and Eric Karabell misses baseball, so he is going to write about all 30 MLB teams over the next few months, covering myriad player values and his general thoughts for what he hopes will ultimately be a fruitful 2020 season.

Next up, the Texas Rangers!

Top fantasy storyline: Some could point to the several new right-handers in the rotation, but it sure seems like the talk surrounding this team, oddly enough, is the new ballpark, called Globe Life Field, just across the street from "old" Globe Life Park in Arlington. Know your stadiums! They are important! When slugger Joey Gallo recently noted, just from batting practice sessions, that the new place was more of a pitcher's haven than the old one, fantasy managers eager for news strongly reacted. Of course, we should never overreact, and would need multiple years to of data to determine if there any meaningful ballpark effects. Are Gallo and his hitter friends all fades now? Are Corey Kluber and his pitcher pals targets? Stadiums!
