Fantasy baseball: Jose Ramirez is a top-10 talent

Reports of Jose Ramirez's demise were greatly exaggerated. The Cleveland third baseman merits first-round consideration in 2021. Getty Images

Entering the 2020 season, the main knock against Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez was his batting average, and it foolishly kept him out of the first two rounds of the average ESPN fantasy baseball draft. That is not going to happen in 2021, though. Ramirez whacked his 16th home run in 52 games on Monday night and moved into the No. 2 overall spot on the ESPN Fantasy Player Rater, behind only teammate Shane Bieber. Yep, Ramirez is the most valuable hitter in roto leagues so far, and he is tied for third in points formats.
