Fantasy baseball: Top prospects from the 2021 Olympics baseball tournament

Fantasy baseball managers may not get to see Boston Red Sox first base prospect Triston Casas hit in the major leagues this season, because the 21-year-old still has yet to play at Triple-A, and also because the organization acquired slugger Kyle Schwarber at the trade deadline. Schwarber is an established veteran player, having blasted 25 home runs in 72 games this season, though whether he can handle first base capably or not when he comes off the injured list is quite another matter.

However, Boston's first baseman in 2022 may be Casas, and potential fantasy investors have seen his enticing skills on display in the Olympics, as he homered in three consecutive games recently. A left-handed hitter with plate discipline, Casas, smoked a first-inning, center-field home run to start Wednesday's win over the Dominican Republic, doing so off his Double-A Portland teammate Denyi Reyes. Earlier in the week Casas smacked an opposite-field, three-run home run versus Japan, and he homered against South Korea.
