Monaco striker Guido Carrillo to miss another 5-6 weeks after groin surgery

Monaco will be without forward Guido Carrillo for a further five to six weeks due to an operation on his groin injury.

The Argentine has missed the Ligue 1 leaders' last two matches and has been limited since the winter break by an adductor muscle problem.

Leonardo Jardim's side have continued to thrive in the eight-goal forward's absence, moving three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain and Nice as 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe has come to the fore.

And they revealed in a statement on their website: "Guido Carrillo will benefit from surgery on his adductors on Tuesday.

"His return is expected to take five or six weeks."

That will see him miss at least seven games, including the Coupe de la Ligue final against PSG and the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City.

The Ligue 1 games against Monaco and Lyon on April 15 and 23 could be realistic targets for the 25-year-old's return.
