Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Alex Remiro has been taken to hospital after being hit in the head by a shot in training on Wednesday. Remiro was knocked out after being hit in the face by a shot hit by Inaki Williams and was helped by doctors before he was stretchered off. The club told ESPN FC he was then taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance according to protocol stipulated by club doctors. The club wrote on Twitter: "Alejandro Remiro has suffered a head trauma during Wednesday's training session. He was conscious and has been taken to a nearby hospital to undergo further tests." Athletic midfielder Benat told a news conference: "It was a huge scare, a strong blow to the head, but he is fine." Remiro, 21, who returned to Athletic during the winter window after ending a loan spell with Segunda Division side Levante, is Athletic's third-choice keeper.
