The final was postponed last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic also ended the league season early but Barca, who were nine points clear of Atletico Madrid with nine games to play, were handed the title.

Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati and Jenni Hermoso scored the goals against Logrono on Saturday at Malaga's La Rosaleda as Lluis Cortes' side continued their impressive form.

They top the Primera Ibedrola this season with 16 wins from their 16 games. They have scored 84 goals in those victories and conceded just three.

They are also into the last 16 of the Champions League, with the draw to take place on Tuesday, after beating Dutch side PSV Eindhoven 8-2 on aggregate.

The only blot on their season came last month, when Atletico Madrid beat them on penalties in the semifinal of the Spanish Supercopa.

Logrono almost held out until half-time in their first-ever appearance in the final of the Copa de la Reina only to give a penalty away with just three minutes to go until the break.

Alexia, who won the spot kick, converted it and then Aitana scored a brilliant second from the edge of the box two minutes later.

Barca's all-time top scorer Hermoso completed the win in the second half when she turned home a cross from the ever-dangerous Caroline Graham Hansen.

It was the sixth time the Blaugrana have won the Copa de la Reina in the last 10 years and the seventh time in their history, taking them one clear of Espanyol and Levante, who have each won the competition six times.
