Armand Traore says it is time to "wake up and do something serious'' after penning a new two-year contract at Queens Park Rangers.
The versatile Senegal international follows Clint Hill and Alejandro Faurlin in remaining at Loftus Road following QPR's promotion back to the Premier League via the playoffs.
Traore started his career at Monaco before moving to Arsenal in 2005, and also had spells with Portsmouth and Juventus before heading to west London.
"Next season is an extremely important one for me, added to the fact we are back in the Premier League. I want to show what I can do in the best league in the world for QPR -- that's what it's all about,'' Traore told the club's official website.
"I am 24 now -- it's time to wake up and do something serious. I wanted to stay at QPR and now this is done I can fully concentrate on the challenge that lies ahead. I am fully focused on the start of the Premier League season.''
On Thursday, manager Harry Redknapp confirmed QPR are set to sign former England captain Rio Ferdinand and have agreed a fee with Cardiff for defender Steven Caulker.
However, Nottingham Forest have rejected a bid for their 20-year-old centre-half Jamaal Lascelles.
New Forest chief Stuart Pearce insists the offer, reported to be four million pounds, will not tempt owner Fawaz Al Hasawi to sell.
"QPR have let it out that they have put money on the table for him,'' Pearce told the Nottingham Post. "But I have come to build this club, not to dismantle it.
"The only way we will accept an offer for our best young players is if it is a sensational offer that ends up enabling me to strengthen the team.
"I have to know that, at the end of any negotiation, I am stronger than I was at the outset. But we would not take money for our best young players. The chairman has enough financial clout to trust my judgement on that.''
