Another week, another league champion crowned. Real Madrid's coronation in LaLiga witnessed a fair few records tumble, with plenty of action across Europe's top leagues this weekend as well. The Premier League title race remained as tight as ever, with both Manchester City and Liverpool winning. Goalkeeping howlers were at hand to ensure AC Milan stayed ahead of Inter in Serie A. Bayern Munich and PSG followed their title celebrations last weekend by dropping points this week, with the Bavarians suffering a rare loss, while PSG gave up a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 against Strasbourg.

By The Numbers has all the best stats from the weekend's action:

LIGUE 1

39

Kylian Mbappé reached 39 goal contributions (24 goals, 15 assists) this season in Ligue 1, one shy of his best of 40 (33G, 7A) in 2018-19. The only players in the top five European Leagues to reach 25+ goals and 15+ assists in a single season since 2010-11 are Lionel Messi (5 times with Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (1 with Real Madrid) and Luis Suarez (1 with Barcelona)

BUNDESLIGA

18

Robert Lewandowski scored his 18th away goal in the Bundesliga this season against Mainz, setting a new record for the most away goals in a single season in the competition.

8

Erling Haaland's hat trick in Borussia Dortmund's 3-4 loss to VFL Bochum meant he scored multiple times in the Bundesliga for the 8th time this season, second only to Robert Lewandowski's 9. Since his debut in January 2020, no player in the Bundesliga has more multi-goal games than Haaland, with 23.

SERIE A

10

Rafael Leão is the first AC Milan player to reach double figures this season. The league leaders have no presence in the top 20 of the Serie A goal-scoring charts, with Ciro Immobile leading the way with 27.

5

Leonardo Bonucci's brace (only the second of his career, with the first also coming this season) against Venezia takes his goal-tally this season to a career high 5. In 17 seasons of his footballing career, he'd only managed 3 in a season previously.

LALIGA

2

Sergio Busquets scored his second LaLiga goal this season in Barcelona's 2-1 win over Mallorca, thus matching his total from the previous three league seasons (2 in 104 games).

9

Atlético Madrid's 0-2 loss to Athletic Bilbao was their 9th defeat of the league season, the most in a single season under Diego Simeone since his debut in January 2012. Coincidentally, no other team has conceded more own goals than Atlético during that span (22, four more than second place Betis).

1

Carlo Ancelotti is the first manager in history to win league titles in each of Europe's top 5 leagues; he is also the oldest coach (62 years, 325 days) to win LaLiga - passing Luis Molowny (61 years, 1 month, 17 days) who won in 1985-86.

24

Marcelo won his 24th major title with Real Madrid, breaking a tie with club legend Francisco Gento for most in club history.

35

Real Madrid lifted their 35th LaLiga title, second only to Juventus' 36 Serie A titles across Europe's top 5 Leagues.

PREMIER LEAGUE

21

Liverpool have 21 clean sheets this PL season - their best since the 22 achieved in 2005-06. Should they keep clean sheets in their remaining four games, they will tie the record for most clean sheets in a single PL season - by Chelsea (25 in 2004-05).

42

This was Liverpool's 42nd win of the season in all competitions, setting a new club record (41 in 2019-20 and 1985-86). (PK shootouts not included as wins).

6

Norwich now have the unenviable record of most relegations from the Premier League, breaking a tie with West Bromwich Albion (5). Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Sunderland are next, with four each.

11

Watford now hold the Premier League record for the most consecutive home defeats with 11 in a row. Their total tally this season is 14, which is the worst alongside Sunderland (2002-03, 2005-06) and Huddersfield Town (2018-19). The Hornets have two more home games to play this season.

12

Tottenham are one of two teams in the Premier League to not drop points in the league this season when ahead at halftime. They are a perfect 12-0-0 when ahead at halftime. The other team is Brentford who are 6-0-0 when ahead at halftime.

MESSI RONALDO WATCH

3

It was all Mbappe in PSG's 3-3 draw against Strasbourg, with Lionel Messi having a quiet game, only managing 3 shots on goal, while also not racking up an assist nor a goal.

12

Cristiano Ronaldo rescued a point for Manchester United, finally breaking his duck against Chelsea in the Premier League, at the twelfth time of asking. Wolves remain the only team Ronaldo has faced thrice or more in the league without scoring.
