Amri, Andik due to return for Selangor against JDT in Malaysia Cup

Selangor will not hold back their big guns when they play host to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup on Tuesday evening.

Both sides are unbeaten in all competitions since the resumption of domestic football on July 1, and will be looking to take over top spot in Group D.

Selangor, who did well to secure a 1-1 draw away to Kedah in the Malaysia Super League on Saturday, will welcome back Amri Yahyah, Razman Roslan and Andik Vermansyah at Selayang Stadium.

"We made a few changes in the last game, and the players who were fielded did well. But against JDT, I will have more options and Amri, Razman and Andik could be fielded," Selangor head coach P. Maniam told Kosmo!

"I had to go on a rotation system because we have so many matches coming up. But it is important we get something from this game to maintain our good run so far."

Maniam would be hoping that JDT coach Ulisses Morais continues to use his fringe players in the cup competition.

Against Terengganu on July 7, the Portuguese manager fielded an all-local cast and were held to a goalless draw against the second-tier side.

In Group B, high-flying Felda United take on Perak, with all eyes on how many goals Thiago Augusto can score at Jengka Stadium.

The Brazilian forward, who returned to the club in the second transfer window, has been in red-hot form, with consecutive hat tricks against Sarawak and T-Team.

Mehmet Durakovic's Perak are no slouches themselves, with four wins in their last five games, and will be looking to remain undefeated and at the top of the group.

Kelantan, who lost to Perak at the weekend, will be hoping for some respite when they welcome Kedah in Group C.

The plight of the out-of-form Red Warriors was made worse when their fans clashed with Perak supporters after the 2-0 defeat on Saturday, with chairs hurled at each other.

Group A sees T-Team hosting Pahang, while PKNP FC take on fellow second-tier outfit Negeri Sembilan in the other match.
