Singapore star winger Faris Ramli is likely to stay at Home United for the 2018 S.League season, despite having attracted interest across the Causeway. ESPN FC understands that the 25-year-old has turned down offers from two 2017 Malaysia Super League sides to sign a one-year extension with the Protectors. However, he has a clause in his contract that will release him from Home United should a satisfactory deal come through. "As of now, there's nothing confirmed in the [Malaysia Super] league yet.. hence there's no confirmation of my [long-term] future," Faris told ESPN FC. "I have been in talks with a few Malaysian clubs. I hope things will be clearer in the next few days." Faris enjoyed a stellar 2017 with Home, during which he contributed 21 goals and as many assists across four competitions. Unlike strike partner Stipe Plazibat, who is set to sign for Thai League side Bangkok Glass, he has been persuaded by the club management to stay for another year. Both Faris and Plazibat were recently pipped to the S.League Player of the Year crown by Kento Nagasaki of Albirex Niigata (S) at the inaugural FAS Nite. Faris has been away from Singapore on a honeymoon trip in France. If he does stay at Home for the 2018 season, it will be a huge boost to Home, who have qualified for a second straight AFC Cup campaign. In 2017, they enjoyed a great run in the region's second-tier club competition before losing to Philippines' Ceres-Negros FC in the ASEAN zonal final. Coach Aidil Sharin, who is also staying despite interest from a few MSL clubs, has his work cut out in the off-season, with key departures like Plazibat, Singapore national No. 1 Hassan Sunny and Hariss Harun. Hassan has signed for Thai League 2 side Army United while Hariss is returning to parent club Johor Darul Ta'zim after a loan spell. Home finished third in the 2017 season -- their highest finish in four years -- but have not won the S.League title since 2003 when Steve Darby was the manager.
