Algeria fans know how to party

ICYMI, Algeria won their second African Cup of Nations title on Friday night by beating Senegal 1-0.

Baghdad Bounedjah's second minute goal was bizarre as it took a massive deflection before dipping under the bar and it proved enough to claim the trophy, setting off some incredible celebrations from the travelling fans both at home and abroad.

Algeria were in a bit of state a decade ago, but good things come to those who wait.

The fans in the stadium...

...And in Paris, London...

...as well as back home in Algiers, seemed to enjoy themselves.

Turkish club almost sign the wrong player

A strange one from Turkey's second tier where Menemenspor came close to signing attacker Alpha Jallow under the impression that they were landing winger Lamin Jallow.

According to L'Equipe, the Turkish outfit had set their sights on Lamin of Italian Serie B side Salernitana but when their recruitment department reached out to the player's representatives, they contacted Portuguese third division player Alpha instead.

Menemenspor did not realise until a transfer fee had been agreed, Alpha had flown to Turkey, signed his contract and posed with his proposed new employers' shirt.

It was at this moment that the club realised their error and with only the medical left before the transfer was complete, they allegedly pretended there was an issue that caused the move to fall through.

So, Alpha returned to Portugal with his dreams shattered, but will Menemenspor get their move for Lamin right at the second attempt? Stay tuned.

Arsenal fan gatecrashes Liverpool game

Liverpool were in South Bend to play Dortmund in a friendly and it's not every day that Premier League teams travel to Indiana... which is probably why an Arsenal fan showed up wearing his Arsenal shirt (top right of the picture).

Wonder if he actually meant to travel to Charlotte instead, where the Gunners are set to play Fiorentina in the ICC later?

Sidenote: Liverpool did not play like Champions of Europe, per the banner, and lost 3-2. But they did release a new "Phantom Black" third kit for 2019-20 season the following morning. Perhaps in a bid to persuade that Arsenal fan to get a new shirt...

Player hides tattoo from his mum ... on his leg

If Norway U19 international Sebastian Jarl was hoping for a transfer to Liverpool, he should have made a bit more effort.

The Sarpsborg 08 midfielder got himself a nice LFC tattoo as he's clearly a big fan. He just didn't want to upset his mum by having it on a place she could see.

Because nobody ever looks at footballers' legs, do they?
