Football legends including Ronaldinho turn up for World Cup of Teqball

It's been a while since Ronaldinho was strutting his stuff with the best in the world but the Brazilian's skills are still sharp.

The Toe Poke is here every day to bring you all the weirdest stories, quirkiest viral content and top trolling that the internet has to offer, all in one place.

Brazil and Barcelona legend Ronaldinho has a new passion: Teqball. A sport that can only be described as a mixture of table tennis, volleyball and football.

Teqball, which is the brainchild of former professional soccer player Gabor Borsanyi and computer scientist Viktor Huszar, is played on a downward-sloping, knee-high table and involves spectacular long kicks, dribbles and explosive headers.

Hungary's dominance of the third world championships (played this weekend in front of an enthusiastic crowd of about 2,000 at second division club Vasas) comes as little surprise as the country invented the sport, which had its first tournament five years ago.

Adam Blazsovics easily won the singles title and teamed up with Csaba Banyik to take home the doubles gold in Budapest, while Brazil won the mixed doubles in the first staging of the mixed gender event as their footvolley world champion Natalia Guitler teamed up with Marcos Viera to edge Hungary in a tight final.

Brazil, who should be pretty good given their country's background in the Samba style of beach soccer, then put out Ronaldinho for an All-Star match which also involved Carlos Puyol of Spain, William Gallas of France, plus Nuno Gomes and Simao Sabrosa of Portugal.

Wales also participated in the main event with former Bristol City winger David Cotterill representing alongside former international teammate Simon Church, and they drew attention with a new flag, possibly designed to encourage Gareth Bale's participation in next year's event.

Teqball tables have been spotted at Manchester United (Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic), Chelsea (Gary Cahill and Gianfranco Zola) and PSG (Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo Moting) over the years, as well as regularly appearing on Neymar's social media feeds and Brazil training camps. So you can only expect it to get bigger.

World chess champion set for Fantasy success too?

What do you need to succeed at Fantasy football? Well, either be a former Liverpool player called Nick Tanner (who is still No. 1), or having the brain of a chess grandmaster helps.

The Guardian brings us the news that Magnus Carlsen, otherwise known as "the world's best chess player for the last decade" is now sixth in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game which hosts over seven million players around the world.

His "Kjell Ankedal" team are on the rise after Sunday's results and also top another league kept just for chess grandmasters.

Norwegian he may be, but Carlsen is evidently a West Ham fan based on this clip of him celebrating France's victory over Romania at Euro 2016 by singing Dimitri Payet's name.

Or perhaps Payet just won him points in his World Cup Fantasy league...

Gabigol shows off Copa tattoo

Flamengo forward Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa provoked the home supporters during his team's 4-0 defeat at Santos on Sunday by displaying his tattoo of the Copa Libertadores trophy to the crowd.

Gabigol scored two goals to give Flamengo a 2-1 win over River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final on Nov. 23 and shortly after celebrated his team winning the Brazilian title.

However the forward, who began his career at Santos and won the Campeonato Paulista with them in 2015 and 2016, lifted his shorts to unveil his latest ink work on his right thigh to a section of fans that had jeered him.

That's one way to quieten them down...
