TOP STORY: Chelsea eye RB Leipzig's Werner
According to The Express, Chelsea are keen to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as part of a £150 million spending spree in January if they can get their transfer ban lifted.
Should the Court of Arbitration for Sport indeed overturn their ban, manager Frank Lampard could also be set to move for several other players including Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, and Lyon's prolific striker Moussa Dembele, who has scored eight times for Lyon so far this season.
They might need a backup to Werner as Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche has moved quickly to shut down talk of the forward leaving Germany. The 23-year-old has been the subject of much speculation this season after netting 12 times so far in the Bundesliga, but Krosche told German publication Bild: "Timo just extended his contract with us recently, and we're not thinking about letting him go at all."
Despite RB's firm stance, the Express reports says that Chelsea may push to sign the Germany international in January in an attempt to steal a march on their rivals. Werner has previously been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, potentially leading to a bidding war unfolding in the near future.

22.50 GMT: One more Man United rumour for those suffering supporters...
The Daily Star claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Bayer Leverkusen and Germany midfielder Kai Havertz their No.1 transfer target. The 20-year-old is rated at over £85 million by Leverkusen and has also been linked with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
United have sent scouts to Germany to watch Havertz and Leverkusen play Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday and he certainly fits the profile of the right-sided midfielder the club are desperately seeking.
"I am happy to stay at Leverkusen for one more year. What happens next summer will be experienced in the future," Havertz said earlier this year, so don't be surprised if he is on the move soon.
21.24 GMT: Red Bull Salzburg goalscoring phenomenon Erling Braut Haaland is among the most wanted men in football at the moment but he won't come cheap.
Italian source Tuttosport claims that Salzburg are looking for €100million (£86m) for the 19-year-old Norwegian international. Haaland, who has 23 goals in 17 games this season over all competitions, scored again in the Champions League on Tuesday against Napoli.
The sky is the limit for the Man United target and based on his UCL performances this season, €100 million could prove to be an absolute bargain!
20.36 GMT: With Zlatan Ibrahimovic's future still up in the air, the LA Galaxy have to come up with a few contingency plans in case Ibra leaves LA.
Argentine television station TyC Sports claims one option could be Boca Juniors and former Watford and West Ham Mauro Zarate. Now 32, Zarate has been at Boca since 2018 and with the Galaxy would be reunited with former manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto and former teammate Cristian Pavon.
Zarate, who has played for 11 clubs in his career, would have massive shoes to fill in replacing Ibrahimovic, who has scored 53 goals in 58 games for the Galaxy.
19.48 GMT: Leicester City are absolutely flying this season in the Premier League and could be poised to get even stronger in January.
Currently third in England's top flight, Leicester have been the biggest surprise in the division and look poised to make a serious run at a top-four finish. After the sale of Harry Maguire to Man United in the summer, the Foxes also still have money available to reinvest and further bolster their squad with as they push for European football.
Two players being linked by The Mirror with a move to the King Power at the moment? Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis and Real Sociedad centre-back Diego Llorente.
Dennis, 21, burst onto the scene last month with a brace in the Champions League against Real Madrid and is rated at around £20 million. Meanwhile, Llorente, 26, came through the ranks at Real Madrid and has enjoyed a banner season for La Real, even earning a recall to the Spain squad last month.
We'll see just how ambitious Leicester are with the £80m they got for Maguire in August.
19.07 GMT: Arsene Wenger as the next Bayern Munich manager?
When asked on beIN Sport if he would be interested in the Bayern job, Wenger replied:
"I came here to talk about the games and you start very strongly there, putting me under pressure!
"Of course. Coaching is what was my whole life until now. Everybody who has coached will tell you the same. You miss the intensity but some things you miss a lot, some things you don't miss. I enjoy the things I don't miss too much.
"But on the other hand: football games, winning football games, preparing the team for the game, and getting satisfaction and shared emotions. That is something that you miss."
Wenger, who managed Arsenal from 1996-2018, has been out of football for a year and a half and has been working as a pundit for BeIn.
18.29 GMT: Norwich City have scored just 11 goals this season -- six of which have come from Teemu Pukki -- but could help be on the way in January?
Haber Global, via The Eastern Daily Press, reports that the Canaries have scouted and are continuing to monitor Turkish winger Emircan Altintas of Umraniyespor. The 24-year-old has been in torrid form in Turkey's second division, having scored seven goals and added two assists this season.
Norwich, who sit 19th in the table will be looking for attacking help in January so keep an ear out for the name Altintas once the transfer window reopens.
17.50 GMT: Manchester United like to pay well over the odds for players that were already on their books, right? Just look at the £89.3m spent on Paul Pogba to buy him back from Juventus...
Now the Sun claims that Burnley winger Dwight McNeil is next on the agenda, with United ready to splash £35m on the 19-year-old just five years after releasing him.
16.47 GMT: Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny finally seems to be settling in to life on loan at Besiktas, having been linked with a move away in recent months.
Elneny, 27, left the Gunners for a loan spell in Turkey this summer and is only now starting to show his true potential. Besiktas star Atiba Hutchinson has, according to Fotomac, told the club to sign the Egyptian on a permanent deal.
16.32 GMT: PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has been linked by some to the vacant Bayern Munich job.
Today he told a news conference: "No, I am not interested as I am PSG coach. Last I checked, I am under contract this season and next."
15.46 GMT: Former Manchester City and Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has been on the lookout for a new club after leaving Blackburn to become a free agent this summer.
Rodwell, 28, had been linked to AS Roma but Premier League surprise side Sheffield United are now looking at signing him, according to Football Insider.
15.02 GMT: Jose Mourinho doesn't seem like he'll get the Bayern job, even if he's been learning German, but surely he'll be back in management soon.
14.15 GMT: Real Madrid have held talks with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz over a potential move to the Bernabeu next season, sources have told ESPN FC.
A meeting took place in October and although negotiations remain in their early stages, the player sees Madrid as a favourable destination despite competition from Manchester City and Barcelona.
Madrid will need to agree a fee with Napoli because there is no release clause in Fabian's contract. Sources have told ESPN FC that Madrid would have to pay between €80-100m, depending on performances this season.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has denied reports he wants Gareth Bale to leave the club in January, and said he is counting on his involvement "until the end of the season."
12.56 GMT: Barcelona will watch Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz in this week's Champions League game against Atletico Madrid as they step up their interest in the Germany international, various sources have told ESPN FC.
Havertz, 20, has been tracked by Barca for the last four years. Scouts from the Spanish champions have been following him closely this season and the club will take advantage of Wednesday's match against La Liga side Atletico to take a thorough look at him as they contemplate bidding for him in the future.
However, Barca know that Havertz will not come cheap. He's the subject of interest from a range of European sides and is expected to cost at least €80m, although sources at the Catalan club insist that "there have not been any talks so far."
12.02 GMT: Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is already on loan at Roma for the season, but the Daily Star reports that the Italian club want to make that deal permanent now.
Indeed, Roma have reportedly bid £13m for the 29-year-old, which has been rejected by United who are said to be holding out for around £17m.
11.11 GMT: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the right-side of midfield as the priority area for strengthening at Manchester United, sources have told ESPN FC.
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been a long-term United target, but Solskjaer's immediate preference is for a player who can strengthen his midfield, as well as the right side of the pitch.
10.05 GMT: The Guardian reports that "Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag, Arsene Wenger and Max Allegri are on Bayern Munich's list of candidates to replace Niko Kovac."
Rangnick is reported to be the favourite, with Allegri on a sabbatical, Ten Hag revealing he would be staying at Ajax until the end of the season and Wenger only a short-term option.
Oh and Jose Mourinho was on the list before Bayern president Uli Hoeness took him off it. Mark Ogden explains why he might not get another big job.
09.42 GMT: Spanish second division side Almeria have appointed former Real Madrid player Guti as their new coach.
Guti, 43, takes his first job as first-team coach with Pedro Emanuel having been dismissed as boss after the club's three draws in its last four league games. He inherits a side that is second in the Spanish second division, 10 points adrift of league leaders Cadiz.
08.30 GMT: Manchester United will block any attempts from rival clubs to sign defender Marcos Rojo in January, according to The Sun.
Rojo was close to leaving Old Trafford for Everton in the summer, only for the move to break down over United's £25m valuation of the Argentina international.
Everton are reported to be preparing another move in January, but The Sun reports that the 29-year-old's performances and attitude this season have convinced United they would prefer to keep hold of him for the rest of the season.
United have Rojo's fellow defender Chris Smalling out on loan for the season, while Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are both out injured.

Real Madrid to make move for Sancho?
Real Madrid have revived their interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, the Daily Mail reports.
The England international, 19, had been a target for the Spanish giants when he left Manchester City to move to Germany in 2017, since when he has developed into one of European football's most exciting young stars.
The Mail claims that, despite valuing Sancho at more than €100m, Dortmund are resigned to losing the player in the summer. Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are two of the other clubs heavily linked with interest.
Sancho signed a new contract at Dortmund in October 2018, committing him to the club until 2022.
United, PSG, Spurs keen on Ajax stopper Onana
Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, but could face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham and Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit.
Monday's edition of De Telegraaf reports that PSG, Manchester United and Tottenham all have "concrete" interest in the Cameroon international. The paper claims that all three clubs have contacted the player's agent to register their interest, in what could develop into a bidding war this January.
Ajax would be looking for a transfer fee around €40-50 million for the 23-year-old, who impressed with a series of fine performances in the Champions League for Ajax last season, as the Dutch champions reached the semifinals of the competition.

- Juventus are set to name their asking price for midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, who is wanted by Man City and Barcelona, according to Calciomercato. The Italian publication quotes a valuation of €45m, which they claim could well be enough to tempt Juve into selling the highly rated Uruguayan.
- Chelsea have sent scouts to watch talented Ligue 1 youngsters Mounir Chouiar and Bryan Soumare, says the Sun. The pair, who both play for Dijon, impressed at the weekend as the French minnows defeated the mighty PSG 2-1. Both players are 20 years old, and can operate in a number of attacking positions, although Chouiar largely operates as a wide player, while his compatriot Soumare is more comfortable from a central position.
