TOP STORY: James rejects Arsenal switch
Marca is reporting that Real Madrid star James Rodriguez has rejected the idea of a move to Premier League side Arsenal.
The Gunners had been contemplating the possibility of making a move for the Colombia international during the January transfer window, with it being well known that his future at the Bernabeu is uncertain. However, it doesn't seem as if getting a deal done is going to be quite so simple, as James appears determined to stay with Los Blancos and attempt to win over manager Zinedine Zidane.
James hasn't featured much so far this season, mainly due to injuries, but still hopes he can turn things around.

22.40 BST: The Telegraph writes that Mauricio Pochettino is the "preferred" candidate to take over Arsenal, but that the Gunners will be hard pressed to convince the former Tottenham manager to move across North London. Nuno Espirito Santo, Massimiliano Allegri and Carlo Ancelotti are said to be the other candidates for the job.
21.23 BST: Inter are interested in Lille midfielder and France U21 international Boubakary Soumare, but having just signed a new contract, it's unlikely the Ligue 1 side will entertain a sale until the summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
20.06 BST: Patrick Vieira is one man linked with the Arsenal job, among many others, but he says he's focused on his work at Nice.
"At the beginning of the season it was Lyon, today there is Inter Miami and tomorrow it will be Botafogo," he's quoted as saying by the Mirror. "I don't know what to say to you. I do my job every day as best as I can."
18.51 BST: AC Milan are preparing a January bid for Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral, the 21-year-old Turkey international who the Italian champions value at €40m, Calciomercato cites Tuttosport as reporting.
17.34 BST: The Mail reports that the Arsenal board were split over when to dismiss Unai Emery -- who was finally sacked this morning -- and their indecisiveness has cost them the chance to sign Jose Mourinho, who reportedly had already begun negotiations with the Gunners before taking over at Tottenham last week.
16.17 BST: Arturo Vidal has completed a full 90 minutes in La Liga or Champions League competition just twice this season, and if he doesn't find himself more involved in the next month, he could look to leave Barcelona in January.
"I have not played for a few matches. Sometimes I played well and then I was not used on the next match. That made me very very sad. One has to be objective and live day to day. If in December or when the season ends, I don't feel that I am important, I will have to find a solution here and expand my horizon so that I can be important," Marca cites Vidal as telling TV3.
15.00 GMT: Everton's director of football Marcel Brands revealed on Friday the club have reached an agreement with Richarlison for a contract extension.
The Brazil international, 22, joined the Toffees on a five-year contract from fellow Premier League side Watford in 2018, and the length of his extension has not yet been specified.
14.15 GMT: Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Vinicius Junior will remain at the club beyond January despite this not being "his time right now."
Reports in Spain claim the 19-year-old could seek a loan move in the winter transfer window to get regular playing time; having enjoyed an impressive debut campaign with Madrid last season, the Brazil international has made just four starts in all competitions this term.
"It's true that he hasn't played much," Zidane said of Vinicius in a news conference on Friday. "His time will come and he will be important for us like the others. He has to be ready. But he is going to stay, that is for certain."
13.45 GMT: Patrick Kluivert has opened the door for Carles Alena and Riqui Puig to leave Barcelona on loan in the January transfer window.
Alena and Puig are two of the highest-rated players to emerge from the club's academy in recent years, but neither midfielder is getting playing time in the first team; Ernesto Valverde has not handed Alena a single minute since the opening day defeat at Athletic Bilbao, while Puig remains with the B team, playing in the Spanish third division.
"It wouldn't be a bad thing for them to go out and get some minutes and experience and become better players," Kluivert, who was appointed Barca's director of youth football in the summer, told Onda Cero.
"Players like Alena and Riqui Puig have to look out for their futures and do what's best for them and for the club."
13.00 GMT: In more Zlatan Ibrahimovic news, the former Sweden international has added fuel to the fire around a rumoured return to Italy.
The striker has previously played for Juventus, Inter and AC Milan, and spoke particularly favourably about the latter in an interview with who said: "There's a great rapport between us, we spoke a month ago and the last time 10 days ago. There is the possibility that he comes, it seemed to me that he was interested in my offer. Around Dec. 10 he will make a definite decision."
12.20 GMT: What's more important, signing Zlatan or keeping hold of Jadon Sancho? Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc believes the England international isn't going anywhere this winter.
Speaking about the 19-year-old's performance in Wednesday's 3-1 Champions League defeat to Barcelona, Zorc said: "I believe that Jadon showed a very good reaction and put in a very good performance when he was subbed on.
"Of course, all those questions are all headed in one direction -- a winter transfer and if it is being prepared. I don't have that impression ... I hope he's at his best tomorrow [against Hertha Berlin]."
11.18 GMT: Former Sweden international Martin Dahlin has backed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join Borussia Dortmund this winter. The Bundesliga side are looking to add a striker to their setup and the 38-year-old is contemplating his next steps.
"I don't know if it ever comes to this, but Zlatan moving to BVB would definitely be an absolute highlight for all fans of Borussia," Dahlin said, urging Dortmund "to try to make this deal happen."
Ibrahimovic will be available on a free transfer this winter, having left LA Galaxy this month, and has been linked with a number of European clubs, including AC Milan. Earlier this week, he invested in the Allsvenskan club Hammarby, but a return to his native Sweden is unlikely.
10.25 GMT: Whether or not River Plate can hang on to Palacios, they face a battle to keep Nicolas De La Cruz amid interest from Manchester City.
According to Portugese journalist Goncalo Lopes, the Premier League champions are keen on the Uruguayan, 22, who plays as an attacking midfielder.
09.38 GMT: Bayer Leverkusen are preparing for a future without Kai Havertz. With the rising Germany star already subject to several transfer rumours, the club are set to sign Exequiel Palacios as a replacement.
The 21-year-old Argentina international was linked with Real Madrid earlier this year, but according to reports in Argentina, Leverkusen have met River Plate's €22 million asking price for the midfielder, who is set for a medical in Buenos Aires next week ahead of a January move to the Bundesliga.
08.45 GMT: Mundo Deportivo reports that Paris-Saint Germain are already keen to make the signing of Sergio Rico from Sevilla permanent. The goalkeeper joined PSG on loan on transfer deadline day, though he has only made one appearance so far.
PAPER ROUND: Borussia Dortmund ready to sell Sancho
German giants Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell youngster Jadon Sancho, the Independent reports.
Following his recent Champions League snub, it seemed as if Sancho leaving would become an even more realistic possibility, and now the story is really gathering steam. The England international is believed to have been late for both a team briefing as well as a team training session prior to the game against Barcelona, which has sealed his fate in the eyes of the club.
Real Madrid are interested in securing his services, and there's also plenty of interest from the Premier League, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United all in the hunt for the €130 million-rated youngster.
Fernandes still wants Sporting exit
Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes is still interested in leaving the Portuguese club even after signing a new contract, the Daily Mail reports.
The brand-new deal is set to run until 2023, with the release clause being set at €100 million. He's now the highest-paid player at the club, but Fernandes is still eager to explore options outside of Sporting.
This will serve as music to the ears of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, both of whom have made it clear that they want to bring him over to the Premier League. If they're going to do so, they could even seal his signature for a fee lower than the release clause -- around €70 million -- courtesy of a "gentleman's agreement" between Sporting and Fernandes.

- Kicker is reporting that Borussia Dortmund are believed to be interested in trying to sign Olivier Giroud. The Chelsea forward is frustrated with his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge, with Dortmund going in search of another forward. If the deal is going to happen, it'll likely take place during the upcoming January transfer window.
- Chelsea star Willian wants to remain at the club despite heavy speculation over his future, the Mirror reports. The Brazil international, 31, was known to be a target for several top European sides, although while he has said that the Blues' youngsters make him feel young again, he also admitted that there has been no new offer yet from the club.
