LIVE Transfer Talk: Ryan Giggs tells Manchester United to sign Swansea's Joe Rodon

The coronavirus pandemic has made the summer transfer window uncertain, but here are the new rumours floating around Europe's big leagues and beyond.

TOP STORY: Man United monitoring Rondon

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Swansea City defender Joe Rodon, according to the Mirror, which suggested he has been recommended to them by Wales boss Ryan Giggs.

Old Trafford legend Giggs told United to make a move for the 22-year-old, and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly considering a £20 million offer in an effort to refresh his defence. Swansea are understood to be likely to accept the deal given the current financial uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

Manchester United are keen to move on players such as Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, and if successful that could pave the way Rodon to make the move to the Premier League.

The Wales manager urged Solskjaer to sign Daniel James last season and now Giggs, who gave Rodon his international debut, might just have paved the way for his former club to sign another gem.

22.38 BST: Here's an interesting one... Lazio targetting Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Newspaper Il Messaggero writes that Lazio are plotting a move for the 24-year-old, who recently returned to action following a 12-month recovery from an Achilles injury. Loftus-Cheek, who showed so much promise last season (10 goals, 5 assists), could now be on the outside looking in due the emergence of Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour and Mateo Kovacic. The outlet claims that Lazio could strike while Loftus-Cheek's value is low, and that Loftus-Cheek could be available for as cheap as £17.5 million.

Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai is also listed by the outlet as a potential target for the Roman club.

21.57 BST: Shanghai Shenhua are expecting surprise Man United loan star Odion Ighalo to return from his loan spell in time for the start of Chinese Super League season, which is scheduled to begin on July.

Ighalo, and United, reportedly would like to extend the loan but it seems as if the Nigerian may have played his last game for his boyhood club. Shenhua are said to value Ighalo at £20 million and want to keep him at the club through at least the remainder of his contract, which runs through 2022.

Brought to Old Trafford on loan on deadline day in a shock swoop, Igahlo has scored four goals in eight appearances for the Red Devils.

21.10 BST: Italian outlet La Gazzetto dello Sport writes that Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has agreed to personal terms with Barcelona, in what could be the first domino to fall in a potential multi-player swap between the two clubs.

Juventus reportedly want 23-year-old midfielder Arthur in return, but the report states that at present, Barcelona are only willing to part with either Ivan Rakitic (32) or Arturo Vidal (32).

These two sides seem to be quite a ways apart but stay tuned...

20.19 BST: Yannick Bolasie, remember him? Well the 30-year-old winger is still on the books at Everton but may not be for much longer.

Football Insider understands that the Everton have told Bolasie to find a new club, and would be willing to sell him for as low as £3 million. Bought for an initial £25m in 2016 from Crystal Palace, Bolasie has been loaned out three times over the last two seasons, most recently to Sporting Lisbon.

19.33 BST: Newcastle are expected to have some money to spend after their Saudi takeover is finalised and Sport24 claims Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos is on their wishlist.

While Newcastle currently boast one of the division's best goalkeepers in Martin Dubravka, the report states the 26-year-old is viewed as a potential long-term successor to the 31-year-old Slovakian. Benfica reportedly have set a €20 million asking price for Vlachodimos, which should be well within Newcastle's new budget.

18.49 BST: With Real Madrid hoping to lure Sadio Mane away from Anfield, Liverpool are prepared to offer the Senegalese star a new lucrative contract, according to Football Insider.

The report states that Liverpool are readying a blockbuster deal to try and keep Mane, 28, at the club for the rest of his career. In March reports leaked that Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of Mane and had made him a priority signing for Los Blancos.

Mane is in the midst of his best-ever season, having scored 18 goals and added 12 assists in just 38 games.

18.04 BST: With their Portuguese connections, namely Jorge Mendes, Wolves love a Portuguese player.

According to a report in O Jogo, the latest Portuguese player who could move to the Molineaux is Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha. The 24-year-old has shone this season while on loan at Braga, notably leaving an impression in two Europa League games against the English club earlier this season. The report suggests that Sporting could look to cash in on the defensive midfielder, and would accept something in the neighborhood of €15 million.

16.59 BST: Real Madrid have set a June 12 deadline for Arsenal to make a decision on Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, according to the Mirror.

The striker isn't expected to sign a new deal with the London club but still has 13 months left on his current contract. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will choose to let him go this summer or simply wait for the contract to run down.

One option being explored by Real, who are keen to have a deal done sooner rather than later, is a swap that would include Dani Ceballos who is currently on loan at Arsenal.

A swap is favoured by the La Liga side as the ongoing coronavirus crisis affects cash flow into the club.

However, sources at Real have told the Mirror that there is an awareness that funds will probably have to be raised if they want to land last season's Golden Boot winner.

Ceballos is also reportedly keen not to stay in London and would prefer to return to Madrid should he be guaranteed first team football.

16.12 BST: Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has caught the attention of another Premier League club with Tottenham joining the race for the midfielder, according to Calciomercato.

With five goals and seven assists in 30 appearances this season, Manchester United and Chelsea had been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.

However, Lazio value the player at €80m which is on the higher end of what clubs may be prepared to part with this summer due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Milinkovic-Savic is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until 2024 but the club has said they would let him go before then if he wanted to leave.

"The player's desire is crucial," Lazio sporting director Igli Tare told Sky Italia.

"Generally speaking, if a player thinks that their time is up and wants to go somewhere else, it shouldn't be a problem.

"Eras come to an end. The fact he stayed in Rome for five years is because he has strong links with the city and club.

"When there was some temptation, a bit on our part, a bit on his, we never went all the way.

"However, things must be assessed at the end of the season."

15.01 BST: Roma are leading the chase to sign Everton striker Moise Kean after a difficult season in England, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

Kean joined the Toffees last summer to big fanfare but has only managed one goal and two assists this season.

A low point for the forward was being substituted just 19 minutes after he had been brought on as a substitute. Duncan Ferguson, who was Everton manager at the time, didn't acknowledge Kean following the substitution and the player returned to the dressing room rather than the bench.

Ferguson said after the game that it wasn't done to personally insult Kean but instead a bid to kill time.

The 20-year-old also faced backlash in recent weeks when he broke lockdown rules and hosted a house party.

Despite this tumultuous period, Roma are reportedly interested in the former Juventus player and Kean's agent Mino Raiola has been in contact with the club.

14.03 BST: PSG's Ander Herrera has told ESPN that Paul Pogba can be successful at Manchester United and a transfer away from the club may not be necessary.

"I haven't spoken with him for a long time and I don't know what he wants to do," Herrera said. "It's true that every day in the papers we can read that he wants to leave, or Manchester United are going to sell him, but I don't really know what he wants to do.

"[Pogba] can be the best midfielder in the world. In terms of qualities, he has everything. I have never seen a midfielder who has all the qualities you can have. He can recover a lot of balls, he can head the ball, he can score goals, he can defend, he can attack, he's so strong and tall.

"It's true that since he came to the club he has some ups and downs, but when he was good, he was really good. Amazing. It was a pleasure to play with him.

"I think all the Manchester United fans want to see the best of Pogba. That can happen, and with Bruno Fernandes, I think Manchester United can do great things. Liverpool and Man City are also doing great things. It's not easy but with Paul, Bruno, Marcus [Rashford] ... they can."

12.57 BST: Manchester United have been linked with Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa several times in recent weeks.

However, the 22-year-old has insisted that he is happy where he is and isn't planning to swap Serie A for the Premier League.

"There are no negotiations, there is Fiorentina," he told Corriere dello Sport. "I do not have an agent, so I speak to the club and my father is always by my side. He is like my personal assistant!

"We never even considered hiring an agent, but I don't know if that will continue in future. The rumour linking me with Francesco Totti's agency was fake news and he was the first to contact the club to clarify that.

"I've spoken so much to the president, Joe Barone and Daniele Prade over the last year, but I am concentrated only on the present. I focus on working every day, achieving immediate objectives, first and foremost securing safety. We just hope to get back to playing and the rest will follow."

11.53 BST: Real Madrid's James Rodriguez could be on his way to the Premier League with Arsenal, Newscastle and Everton interested in him.

Former Inter Milan star Ivan Cordoba has urged his fellow Colombian James Rodriguez to leave the Bernabeu after a difficult time with the La Liga side.

"I wish James would go to England because there are so many interesting options for him," Cordoba told the Daily Mail.

"James is already at one of the best teams in Real Madrid, but the Premier League would be a great destination. Those who buy him will make an excellent choice."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly respects the Colombia international's style of play while Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti worked with Rodriguez at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and is keen to be reunited.

10.26 BST: Manchester City want to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut, according to Sky Sports.

The 17-year-old will become a free agent in 2021 but City are hoping to buy out the rest of his contract this summer.

If they wait until 2021, it will just be training compensation owed to the club.

However, they might have competition with the teenager also catching attention in Spain and Italy.

He had been performing well for PSG's U19 side before Ligue 1 was cancelled.

09.30 BST: Le Parisien reports that Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Thomas Meunier on a free transfer this summer. The Paris Saint-Germain and Belgium defender is out on contract on July 1. Spurs could beat Manchester United to his signature.

PAPER ROUND

Juventus eyeing City youngster McNeil

Manchester City's rising star Charlie McNeil is wanted by Italian giants Juventus and German side RB Leipzig, reports the Mirror.

The youngster, 16, is emerging from City's academy but feels as if he might find more opportunities for first-team football elsewhere, and now it appears as though there could be a bidding war for his services.

McNeil is being compared to Jadon Sancho in that he's a talented youngster who doesn't seem to be getting the necessary attention from City's hierarchy but who could potentially flourish elsewhere.

The England under-16 international could follow such players as Oliver Burke, Ademola Lookman and Emile Smith Rowe if he decides to join Leipzig. Juve, meanwhile, are very aware of the success Sancho has had since leaving Manchester City and in McNeil they're hoping to unearth another player with star quality and huge sell-on potential.

Dortmund want to make Chelsea's Webster a star

England's rising stars appear to be popular today, and as well as McNeil tempting the likes of Juventus, Chelsea's Charlie Webster is wanted by Borussia Dortmund.

That's according to the Sun, who suggest Dortmund have seen similar qualities in the Chelsea 16-year-old that saw them swoop for Sancho, and now they believe they've found themselves another genuine talent.

Central midfielder Webster impressed in the KDB Under-15s Cup -- named after Kevin De Bruyne -- last season and is fast climbing the ranks at the west London club. However, Dortmund are looking to seize on Webster's availability before giving him the star treatment in Germany, and fast-tracking him into the first team.

Webster has played for England at U16 and U17 levels, and Dortmund believe they can tempt him away from Chelsea by selling him the dream of first-team football in the Bundesliga.

Tap-ins

- Adrien Rabiot is open to a move to Manchester United from Juventus, according to Italian paper Corriere di Torino. The French international has only been in Italy for a year following his move from Paris Saint-Germain, but he has failed to hold a regular place in the first team.

- Nantes are keen to sign Liverpool's 22-year-old midfielder Pedro Chirivella, according to the Daily Mail. Chirivella joined Liverpool from Valencia in a deal worth up to £2m but he hasn't made an impression on the first team. This season, he played in the Liverpool squad side that progressed in the domestic cup competitions, but Nantes are keen to offer him first-team football and a three-year contract.

- A number of Premier League clubs are contemplating bringing Kieran Trippier back to England just one year after he left to join Atletico Madrid, reports the Sun. They're reporting that the right-back would cost would-be suitors £20m, the same price he cost Atletico from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Trippier has returned to form in La Liga, but he's reportedly checking out potential new homes in his native north-west ahead of a potential return.
