LIVE Transfer Talk: Manchester United hoping for price drop to land Jadon Sancho

The coronavirus pandemic has made the summer transfer window uncertain, but here are the rumours floating around Europe's big leagues and beyond.

TOP STORY: Man United hoping for price drop to land Sancho

Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool have joined Manchester United in monitoring Jadon Sancho's situation at Borussia Dortmund, but the Daily Mail says that United are waiting for his price to drop before making their next move.

United have been favourites to land the in-form English winger all year but they're now looking to drive down the £100 million price tag.

As yet, there have been no formal bids for the winger, and the Mail believe United will play a waiting game in an effort to land their No.1 target.

United chief Ed Woodward has warned that the Reds don't have a bottomless pit of money to spend this summer and that any future signings need to be "realistic."

Real Madrid would appear to favour a move for Kai Havertz and Liverpool have stated it's unlikely they will be making any major signings. Manchester City, meanwhile, have stated a central defender is their top priority, with Pep Guardiola even admitting it's unlikely he would look to replace the outgoing Leroy Sane. All of which leaves Manchester United in pole position.

LIVE BLOG

23.00 BST: That will do it for the latest edition of our LIVE Transfer Talk blog. We hoped you enjoyed following along with us and remind you to check back shortly for the latest transfer rumours, reports and completed deals. Goodnight!

22.46 BST: Leicester have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Real Betis and Portugal defensive midfielder William Carvalho.

Radio Marca suggests that the Foxes have agreed to terms and are expected to sign the 28-year-old in the coming weeks. The two teams are also expected to agree to a deal, as Betis would like to raise funds (reportedly £14 million) for a player that is currently out of the team.

Betis, who were ambitious in the transfer market this past summer are currently in the bottom half of the table and are likely to be big sellers this transfer window.

21.59 BST: It appears those queuing up Rennes phenom Eduardo Camavinga will have to wait a little bit longer...

Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has revealed via news conference that the 17-year-old midfielder has agreed to stay at the Ligue 1 outfit for another year.

"We have agreed with Eduardo that he will stay with us next season. He is a smart player and he knows where his sporting interest would be best served at the moment. Irrespective of that, we haven't actually received any offers for him."

The youngster is widely considered one of Europe's brightest talents and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid. Rennes, who finished a surprising third this season in Ligue 1, have qualified for the Champions League's third qualifying round, meaning they stand three games away from the UCL proper.

21.10 BST: Arsenal are set to offer short-term extensions to David Luiz, Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari and Dani Ceballos, according to manager Mikel Arteta.

"I'm confident that we can do it. I hope so,' he said of completing deals for the quartet.

"It's very complicated with the timing of it and some of the legal issues that are involved with that.

"The club is trying to finalise everything in the next few hours and we have no choice, we have to do it and even more with all the injuries we've had. We are trying to resolve this."

The deals if completed by the midnight deadline will allow all four players to finish the season at the Emirates, with Luiz's inclusion after his horror show against Man City the biggest eye-catcher.

20.22 BST: Here's an interest one for our American readers...Irish champions Dundalk have signed former U.S. international Josh Gatt to a short-term contract.

The 28-year-old winger, once highly-regarded in the U.S. program, has had his career ravaged by knee injuries and most recently played for Austrian side SCR Altach. Gatt, who has two senior caps for the USMNT, had a successful spell in Norway earlier in his career and will hope his move to Ireland can reignite his once very promising career.

19.38 BST: Genk have found their Mbwana Samatta replacement, according to reports in Belgium.

Newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws writes that Genk have signed Heracles Almelo's Cyriel Dessers, the Eredivisie's join-top scorer in 2019-20.

The Nigeria international, 25, had 15 goals in 26 league games this past season and reportedly will join Genk on a four-year contract for a fee of €4 million. Dessers becomes the third Nigerian on the books at Genk joining Paul Onuachu and Stephen Odey.

18.54 BST: Arsenal need some defensive help and a new name has come to the fore: Tryone Mings.

The Athletic's David Ornstein, who has ties with the London club, has said the Aston Villa centre-back is a player of interest to the Gunners. The 27-year-old, who Aston Villa signed on a permanent basis for €20 million last summer, has impressed in the Premier League this season and could be back in the shop window if Villa were to be relegated.

If Mings is available there will surely be a long list of suitors, as the England international has blossomed since swapping Bournemouth for Villa.

18.07 BST: Atlanta United have had massive success signing young South American talent.

Ezequiel Barco, the second-most expensive addition in MLS history, is one of those that has proven a major hit in the United States. The 21-year-old winger might not be part of the Five Stripes for much longer though, based on his recent comments to Argentine outlet TyC Sports.

A huge fan of fellow Independiente graduate Sergio Aguero, Barco told the outlet he dreams of playing in the Premier League, potentially even for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. That potential move seems a while off yet but Barco did also mention some legitimate interest from clubs in Europe.

"I know that from Fiorentina they contacted my representative. Also some clubs in France. The truth is that Fiorentina would be a nice possibility, yes. But now I don't know what's going to happen with all this pandemic."

The Under-23 Argentina international has scored 11 goals and added 10 assists in 64 games for Atlanta United since arriving in 2018 for $13.5 million.

17.20 BST: Sky Sports are reporting that Juventus have come to an €80 million agreement with Barcelona to sign central midfielder Arthur.

The Old Lady have been desperate to sign the 23-year-old Brazilian with a cash plus Miralem Pjanic swap originally proposed. Arthur, who arrived at the Camp Nou from Gremio in the summer of 2018, reportedly wants to stay at Barcelona and still needs to be convinced to agree to join the Italian giants. Barcelona though, are hoping Arthur agrees to leave, as the club continues to try and raise funds to sign No. 1 target and £100 million-rated forward Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.

Juventus are prepared to increase Arthur's wages to £4.5m per year as a sweetener to convince Arthur to join them, and also have laid out Maurizio Sarri's big plans for the Brazilian. While Pjanic would not be part of this deal, Barcelona are reportedly still interested in the Bosnian and continue to talk with Juventus regarding his valuation.

16.45 BST: Liverpool could sign a new full-back as Sporting Lisbon youngster Nuno Mendes is on the club's radar.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha says that the Reds are intensifying their pursuit after Manchester United entered the race.

The 18-year-old signed a five-year deal with a release clause of €45m earlier this month.

16.04 BST: Will this a turn up for the book. The Evening Standard says that Willian and Pedro are set to sign short-term deals to stay at Chelsea until the end of the season.

The Blues won't convince either to remain at the club beyond that, but it's a start.

15.36 BST: Mark Ogden writes that David De Gea has 12 months to save his Manchester United career as Sheffield United loanee Dean Henderson waits to take over from him.

15.01 BST: Arsenal have been hit by injuries and Barcelona goalkeeper Neto is on their radar to replace Bernd Leno, says Sport.

Neto, 30, hasn't been able to displace Marc-Andre ter Stegen at Camp Nou, but with Leno out for around six months due to injury, he may fancy his chances of more regular football in London.

The Gunners have reportedly asked about a loan move, but Barca need cash and want €20m.

14.29 BST: Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile has emerged as a target for Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United, says RMC.

Badiashile, 19, made 20 appearances in all competitions this season and Rennes have already seen a €15m bid rejected. So clearly any clubs with designs on the youngster know what they have to pay.

13.57 BST: Arsenal are expected to agree an extension to Cedric Soares' loan from Southampton and want to sign him permanently on a free transfer this summer, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

The 28-year-old joined the Gunners on loan in January but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club due to injury and the enforced break resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

13.45 BST: Former Man United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is leaving Everton to join Nice.

13.35 BST: PSG full-back Thomas Meunier is set to join Borussia Dortmund and not Tottenham when his contract expires this summer. Here's why.

12.52 BST: PSG striker Edinson Cavani wont stay at the club to play in the Champions League when it returns in August, says RMC.

Like Timo Werner, who is leaving RB Leipzig to join Chelsea in July, the Uruguay striker wants to move on this summer and plenty of clubs are interested in landing him.

12.02 BST: Calling agent Antonio Rudiger ... evidently the Chelsea and Germany defender played a part in the club signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner for €53m.

"I did speak to him before because we have known each other for a long time," Rudiger told Chelsea TV. "We spoke a lot during the lockdown and he told me he was interested in coming to England. Of course then I did my bit, what I had to do."

Meanwhile, the Blues are reportedly going head-to-head with Leipzig over 17-year-old Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek.

Bild says that Leipzig want the €15m-rated Hlozek to replace Werner, but that Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have also been watching him. Is this another job for agent Antonio?

11.24 BST: Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers says the club want to keep left-back Ben Chilwell, but will get the best price they can if he departs.

Chilwell has attracted interest from Chelsea, as well as a number of other top clubs across Europe. Leicester sold Harry Maguire to Man United for £80m last summer, while Riyad Mahrez left for a £60m move to Manchester City in 2018.

"At this club we're pretty relaxed on that side, we've got good experience of situations where so-called bigger clubs will come in," Rodgers said. "We will always fight to keep the players here but, if they're not going to be here, the club will get the best price for the player, it's as simple as that.

"We're aware that while there are good players here, that will be of interest to teams who have more money than ourselves. We're not naive, but we don't lose sleep worrying over it."

11.06 BST: Arsenal need to spend some money if they are to improve.

10.33 BST: Boca Juniors have offered Carlos Tevez a one-year contract extension, according to reports.

TyC reports that Tevez, whose deal expires on June 30, will make a decision in the coming days. Boca have put on the table a one-year deal with an option to extend it for a further six months should the team qualify for the group stages of the 2021 Copa Liberadores.

The former Manchester United and Manchester City forward is in his third spell at Boca. Tevez, 36, scored nine goals -- including one that gave Boca the league title against Gimnasia y Esgrima in March -- in 17 league appearances to help his team win the title.

09.52 BST: Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz says that Arsenal have exercised the option to acquire Pablo Mari on a permanent transfer.

The Spanish centre-back joined the Gunners on loan in January with reported £14m purchase option included in the deal. Mari, 26, played in three games before he was forced off with an ankle injury against Manchester City when the Premier League started to be played again on June 17. He is expected to be out for the remainder of the season and is due to undergo surgery.

"Pablo Mari was sold, in fact. There is no doubt about it," Braz said in a news conference. "We know that he suffered a serious injury, but that matter is already resolved and when the right moment comes, the numbers will come out on the club's balance sheets."

09.37 BST: Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has signed a new contract, keeping the 23-year-old at Old Trafford until 2025. United also have an option to extend for a further 12 months.

"Whilst I understand that we all have so many other things to think about at the moment, I'm so happy to sign this contract and play a part in the future ahead for this team," McTominay said. "All I have ever known is United and I hope that my passion for the club shows every time I go onto the pitch.

"I'll continue to give everything for this club whenever I pull on the shirt. I want to thank the manager for the faith he has shown in me and everyone at the club that has helped me to get where I am today. I'm looking forward to finishing this season on a high and hopefully achieving our aims."

McTominay was only 18 months into the long-term contract he signed in January 2019 but the fresh terms reflect his growing important to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The Scotland international has made 28 appearances this season and is approaching 100 senior games for United after making his debut at the end of the 2016-17 season under Jose Mourinho.

09.16 BST: Expect plenty of contract news from Arsenal and Chelsea today as it is the deadline for Premier League clubs to agree new, short-term deals to keep players whose contracts are due to expire on June 30 to remain with them until the end of the delayed 2019-20 season. Clubs agreed a June 23 deadline to give players being released a full week to find another club.

Arsenal must decide whether to hand David Luiz a new deal as well as extend the loans of Cedric Soares and Dani Ceballos, with a key factor being the overall injury situation and whether head coach Mikel Arteta will be short of options if they are returned.

Across the capital, Chelsea are not prepared to offer Willian the three-year deal he craves but would still like him to complete the existing campaign. Pedro is set to join Roma and is therefore reluctant to stay on to play for a club ready to dispense with his services.

08.49 BST: Alexis Sanchez will leave Inter Milan and return to parent club Manchester United, once his loan spell expires on June 30, Sky Italia reports.

The Chile international forward arrived on a season-long loan last summer, since when he has started just two Serie A games and scored one goal.

According to Sky Italia, United will not allow Sanchez to extend his loan deal with Inter in order to complete the season so as not to strengthen a direct Europa League rival -- Inter and United are both in the round of 16.

08.24 BST: Tottenham duo Jan Vertonghen and Michel Vorm have signed short-term contract extensions to stay at the club until the end of the season.

The pair had deals which were due to expire on June 30 and both players are widely expected to leave the club this summer.

However, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho was hopeful Belgian defender Vertonghen and Dutch goalkeeper Vorm would commit for the remaining Premier League matches and the club confirmed on Monday that they have done so.

Vertonghen has been linked with a move to Italy or Spain but Mourinho said he has no concerns about the centre-back being distracted by speculation over his next club.

"Jan is a fantastic guy, fantastic professional," Mourinho said. "His love for the club, his respect for the club, is never in doubt."

08.00 BST: Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign Manchester United target Jude Bellingham, sources have told ESPN's Stephan Uersfeld, with the club expected to announce the Birmingham City midfielder's arrival in the coming days for a fee believed to be around £20m.

Bellingham, 16, has also been linked with Chelsea but has his heart set on a transfer to the Bundesliga to follow in the footsteps of England international Jadon Sancho.

Bellingham cannot officially sign a professional contract until he turns 17 on Monday, June 29. He is set to finish the Championship season with Birmingham which restarted at the weekend and is set to be concluded by late July.

Dortmund are set to pay a training compensation in the £20m region, in a similar agreement BVB reached with Manchester City over Sancho in 2018 when the winger joined for a reported compensation fee of €7m.

PAPER TALK (by Nick Judd): Arsenal keen on Mkhitaryan-Kluivert swap

The Daily Star reports that Arsenal are hoping agent Mino Raiola can negotiate a deal with AS Roma that would see Henrikh Mkhitaryan make his loan move permanent, with Justin Kluivert moving in the opposite direction to London.

Raiola represents both players, and Roma appear keen to keep Mkhitaryan after the Armenian's successful loan spell this season.

However, Roma are unwilling to do a straight swap, a result of the Italian board valuing Kluivert greater than Mkhitaryan, which would mean the two clubs needing to agree a fee.

The Gunners are desperate to overhaul their failing squad this summer and Kluivert represents one player who they feel would enhance their attacking powers next season.

Mikel Arteta doesn't have a huge transfer fund at his disposal, so a swap with a nominal fee could be the way forward, though his funds may be boosted if he decides to sell players such as Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Barca desperate to offload Coutinho

Barcelona are keen to get Philippe Coutinho off their wage bill this summer, but it's his wages that are proving difficult when it comes to offloading him, reports the Mirror.

Liverpool are continually linked as one club who could sign him, the Brazilian leaving Merseyside to join Barca in 2018. However, the Reds have repeatedly stated that they're not interested, while their failure to sign Timo Werner suggests that they don't have a huge amount to spend this summer because of the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus.

Coutinho is a victim of the new landscape following the global pandemic in which few clubs have huge amounts of money to spend.

Barcelona are even said to be willing to drop his asking price from £100m to £63m in an effort to make space for their own potential new signings.

Tap-ins

- Paris Saint-Germain are keen to take Lucas Hernandez to the French capital this summer to replace the outgoing Thiago Silva, but Le10sports suggests Bayern Munich appear reluctant to do business. PSG sporting director Leonardo has seen something in the defender despite his disappointing season at Bayern, while the player himself is keen on the move. Bayern are keen to recoup the €80m they paid for Hernandez back in 2019, but they're less keen to deal with PSG, who they see as a major European rival.

- Further to Repubblica's suggestion that Arthur is keen to move to Juventus, Sport is reporting that the Italian club are increasingly desperate to land the Brazil international in any potential swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic. Juventus and Barcelona have been in discussions all summer about a potential deal involving Pjanic, and while Sport are suggesting that the two clubs have come to an agreement, it's now down to the players to agree on the move.
