LIVE Transfer Talk: Barcelona confident Erling Haaland can be lured to Camp Nou

14.51 GMT: Philippe Coutinho is open to leaving Barcelona this month and five Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa and Everton, have expressed an interest in signing him, sources have confirmed to ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.

Coutinho's agent Kia Joorabchian is working in collaboration with Barca to find a new home for the Brazil international, who wants to play regular football before the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Villa, coached by Coutinho's former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard, are one of the clubs interested in signing the playmaker.

A source close to Coutinho's camp added that talks with all interested parties are still at a very early stage and that "no [club] is being ruled out at this stage."

"It's all to do with the football project more than anything else," the source said.

Another source revealed that Everton are one of the clubs who have held talks over a deal for Coutinho, who spent five years at their Merseyside rivals Liverpool before joining Barca for a club record €160m fee in 2018. However, there's an internal debate at Goodison Park, with owner Farhad Moshiri keen on doing a deal for Coutinho, while coach Rafa Benitez is not yet on board.

Sources said the conditions Barca are offering -- a loan with the Catalan club still paying part of Coutinho's wages -- are favourable for Premier League clubs.

14.12 GMT: USMNT defender Bryan Reynolds is set to leave Roma on loan in this transfer window, with Anderlecht in pole position to land the young right-back, sources have told ESPN.

The Belgian side are favourites to sign Reynolds on a temporary deal through to the end of the season, but face competition from Club Brugge and English Championship side Hull City.

Reynolds, 20, has found his game time limited at Roma since he joined the club last January from FC Dallas. The deal was originally on loan, but included an obligation to make the deal permanent last summer for €6.75m, with €5m in add-ons.

But under manager Jose Mourinho, who took charge ahead of this season, Reynolds has played just one minute in Serie A this term, with his only other action seeing him start their 6-1 defeat to Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Conference League.

Sources said there is willingness on both sides for Reynolds to seek a loan move for more first-team football.

14.03 GMT: TalkSPORT claims Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is attracting attention in January.

Neves, 24, put in a fine performance as Wolves beat Man United 1-0 this weekend and United are now named as potential suitors.

United interim manager Ralf Rangnick wants to improve the club's midfield and Portugal international Neves would fit well alongside Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.

13.44 GMT: Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is on the verge of joining Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season, says The Daily Express.

Balogun, 20, has only made two appearances for the first team this season and is keen to get more match time.

The England U21 international signed a new long-term contract with the club in April but will be allowed to depart in January.

13.21 GMT: Diego Simeone has said that Atletico Madrid have given Kieran Trippier "48 hours to resolve his situation" as the England right-back closes in on a move to Newcastle United.

Trippier was allowed to skip training on Tuesday and Wednesday as the final details of his return back to the Premier League -- after joining Atletico from Tottenham in 2019 -- are ironed out.

"I'm grateful for the time Kieran has been here with us," Simeone said in a news conference on Wednesday ahead of Atletico's Copa del Rey game with Rayo Majadahonda. "He's behaved really well, he's worked hard, and he's been a very important player for us as I've said before. Now we'll look forward and look for alternatives."

ESPN reported on Tuesday that Atletico are already looking at options to replace Trippier, favouring a full-back who could also fill in at centre-back.

13.09 GMT: Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says Alvaro Morata will not be allowed to leave the club this month after Barcelona made a move for the striker.

ESPN revealed last week that Barca had made Morata their top target for the January transfer window after completing the €55m signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City.

Sources added that Morata, who is on loan at Juve from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season, was open to a return to Spain, but the Italian club don't want to lose him.

"Morata stays here," Allegri confirmed in a news conference on Wednesday. "He's not leaving this month. We had a face-to-face meeting and I told him: 'You're 100% staying.'"

Juve have an option to make Morata's move permanent in the summer, but sources told ESPN the Serie A club were open to letting him end his loan in Turin early. However, the lack of possible replacements available has forced them to change their opinion after initially offering Barca optimism that a deal might be possible.

What sets him apart is his overall centre-forward game, combined with his athleticism and work rate. While most teenage strikers tend to refine their hold-up game from their early 20s, the 6-foot-1 Pepi already possesses the ability to drop deep to get on the ball and shows a willingness to track back and press defenders as the focal point of the attack.

Another distinctive feature that sets the American aside from most of his contemporaries is his impressive balance and strength, often demonstrated when picking the ball up in space before setting off on a dribble. In those circumstances he's hard to catch or knock off the ball, which makes him ideal to profit from counterattacks.

Pepi is already good at hitting the target with his efforts on goal (46% in MLS last season) and boasts a varied finishing technique with either foot that keeps opposing goalkeepers guessing. While he tends to score most of his goals from inside the penalty area, his clinical finishing makes him a very dangerous opponent.

Zagadou, 22, has a contract which expires in the summer and has yet to pen new terms, with negotiations still ongoing.

United's interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, is reportedly the one who wants to sign the France U21 international but will have to wait until the summer to do so for free.

11.50 GMT: AS Roma are expected to complete a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the next 24 hours, sources have told ESPN.

The Italian club's sporting director Tiago Pinto had made contact with the north London club last month to explore a potential move, ESPN had previously reported, and talks have progressed positively since.

It is understood Maitland-Niles will join Roma until the end of the season, but the deal does not contain an option or an obligation for a permanent move the 24-year-old.

11.04 GMT: Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has apologised for an unsanctioned interview he gave to Sky Italy in which he expressed his unhappiness at the club and claimed he wanted to one day return to Inter Milan.

Sources have told ESPN that Lukaku is also expected to stay at the club with the following clear-the-air talks with head coach Thomas Tuchel. The 28-year-old was dropped for Sunday's 2-2 draw against Liverpool with Tuchel concerned about the "noise" caused by the interview.
