LIVE Transfer Talk: Arsenal plan shock move for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford

The 2022 January transfer window is closed, but there's still plenty of gossip swirling about who's moving where. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings and goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Rashford draws interest from Arsenal

Arsenal are set to make a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the summer, reports The Sunday Mirror.

It comes after a tough spell for the 24-year-old, who has struggled to break into United team this season, making just 19 Premier League appearances. In that time, he has scored four goals and assisted twice.

Rashford only has 15 months remaining on his deal at Old Trafford and uncertainty around playing time may create enough reason to push for a move away. Such is his struggle for form, the forward was dropped from the England squad this week.

For Arsenal, the Man United striker offers a solution to a potential problem in the summer. Mikel Arteta is set to be without a recognised first-team centre-forward, with Alexandre Lacazette and Edward Nketiah to be free agents. Rashford would be able to play both up front and on the left, adding further versatility to their current options.

It could work for both parties, but it remains to be seen whether United would agree to let the academy graduate leave the club or whether the next manager, whoever that may be, has plans for him in the future.

22.04 BST: Atletico Madrid are on the hunt for a new center-back and they have reportedly set their sights on Burkina Faso international Edmond Tapsoba, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 23-year-old has been at Bayer Leverkusen since 2020, working his way into regular contention for the starting line-up. His contract on Germany runs until 2026 and it reportedly wouldn't be cheap to buy him out with a market value estimated around €40m.

20.41 BST: Turkish giants Besiktas are looking to keep midfielder Miralem Pjanic, who has been on loan with the club from Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Pjanic joined Barcelona in the summer of 2020 and made less than 20 appearances before joining Besiktas on loan on September 2021. Now the Turkish club would like to see the 31-year-old stick around after his season-long loan ends, although the loan agreement does not include an option for a permanent transfer.

It wouldn't be a surprise if the move happens. Although Pjanic is under contract with Barcelona until 2024, his name was floated as one of the players the club would release to make room for Lionel Messi, a plan that ultimately failed when Messi went to Paris.

19.27 BST: The future of Paris Saint-German captain Marquinhos is in limbo. After months of negotiations, the club and the Brazilian have yet to agree to terms for a renewal, according to L'Equipe.

The 27-year-old is reportedly keen to stay and both sides are looking to extend his current deal, which ends in 2024, by two to three years, but the financial terms are where the new deal is getting stuck.

Marquinhos' camp believes he has earned an increase from his €1.2m-per-month salary, particularly after Chelsea reportedly made an unsuccessful €85m bid for his services, but it appears PSG doesn't exactly agree. Still, there is plenty of time to work something out and neither side as yet sounds worried.

18.34 BST: With Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe two of the most highly sought-after players becoming available in the near future, Real Madrid apparently has the budget to pay for both, according to Diario AS.

Mbappe's contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June, and Haaland will be available to leave Borussia Dortmund via a €75m release clause that will come into effect over the summer as well -- and Real Madrid sees a way to attract both under their LaLiga spending limit.

Real Madrid can spend up to €739m, according to the report, and their current wage budget sits at €528m without another €60m expected to be freed up soon. If you do the math, that gives them €271 to work with -- plenty to attract Haaland and Mbappe while still leaving room to build around them.

17.50 BST: Kalidou Koulibaly, for a long time linked with a move to several of Europe's top clubs, is set to sign a new contract with Napoli.

La Repubblica reports that the central defender has finally agreed terms, which should put an end to speculation over his future. He will pen a three-year contract worth €5m a season, a small reduction on his current terms.

The Senegal international, who will be 31 when next season kicks off, has made 310 appearances for Napoli in all competitions since joining the club from Genk in 2014.

17.05 BST: Juventus could make a renewed bid to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

Jesus, 24, could become available this summer if City win the race to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Juve were linked with the Brazil international last summer, but couldn't make the finances work. But with Paulo Dybala set to leave the Turin club, space will open up on the club's wage bill.

The report says that Juve were quoted a transfer fee of €50m last summer, but only had the funds for a €30m deal. However, the striker is about to move into the final year of his contract, which may reduce his transfer value.

16.21 BST: Paul Pogba has insisted he has made no decision over his future, and could still stay at Manchester United -- but he wants to win titles.

The France midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and is widely expected to leave Old Trafford, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus among the clubs who could offer him a deal.

Recent reports have suggested that the 29-year-old could even become a free agent on July 1 before making a decision over where he will play next season.

"Nothing is decided on my future, nothing is done," Pogba told Telefoot on Sunday. "I can decide tomorrow, just as I can decide during the transfer window. I want to bounce back and finish the season well.

"I want to win titles, I want to play for something. Whether it's this year or even the last few years, we haven't won a title. That's what's sad, in the end."

15.30 BST: Calciomercato reports that Napoli have made a decision over the future of a number of key players.

Juan Jesus, a 30-year-old defender, will be offered a one-year extension.

There's uncertainty over the future of Dries Mertens. The 34-year-old is a club legend, having scored 109 goals in 287 Serie A appearances, but is also one of their highest earners. The report says he will have to take a 50% pay cut to stay in Naples.

But goalkeeper David Ospina, 33, will leave on a free transfer and has been linked as back-up for Lazio and Real Madrid. The club's No. 1, Alex Meret, is set to be offered an extension to his deal which expires in 2023.

14.48 BST: Inter Milan want to sign Jordan Veretout from AS Roma, but the two teams are very much apart on a transfer fee.

Veretout, 29, has been excellent for Roma since joining the club from Fiorentina three years ago.

The former Aston Villa midfielder has added goals to his game in Italian football, with 20 goals in 91 Serie A appearances for Roma.

The report in Tuttosport says that Roma are looking for a transfer fee of €15m, and that could see Inter turn to Lille's Xeka. The 27-year-old will be out of contract in the summer.

14.01 BST: Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has sparked speculation over his future by saying he wants to play Champions League football.

Leicester were in the Europa League this season, but dropped down the Europa Conference League for the knockout rounds. The Foxes will not be in Europe at all next season unless they win that competition to earn a Europa League return.

The 24-year-old, who has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, only has one year left on his contract and could move on in the summer.

"I don't worry about it [transfer speculation]," he told Het Laatste Nieuws. "I want to get the most out of myself this season and finish as high as possible with the team.

"Of course, I want to play in the Champions League, just like any footballer. Am I ready for a European top club? I'm ready to get the best out of my career. We'll see what happens next summer, or the summer after that."

13.12 BST: Antonio Rudiger now has just three months remaining on his Chelsea contract, and the race for his signature is starting to hot up.

The Sun reports that Juventus are confident of signing the centre-back, ahead of strong interest from Real Madrid

The 29-year-old will be available on a free transfer, with Chelsea currently unable to offer players new contracts due to sanctions on Roman Abramovich.

The report says that Juve want Rudiger to replace the 37-year-old Giorgio Chiellini at the heart of their defence for years to come, with the offer of a four-year deal on the table.

Rudiger has been able to discuss a precontract agreement with foreign clubs since Jan. 1.

12.30 BST: Leeds United winger Raphinha has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, Diario Sport reports.

The Brazil international, who is also a reported target of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea, has a contract with the Premier League side until June 2024.

The 25-year-old has turned down offers to renew his contract as his intention is to join Barca. He will ask Leeds to agree a transfer fee with the LaLiga club and Sport says that Raphinha, who has an Italian passport, has agreed a five-year contract and is willing to accept the club's wage limit.

Raphinha joined Leeds from Rennes in October 2020 for a fee of £17m.

11.43 BST: Tottenham Hotspur lead the race to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, according to reports in Mundo Deportivo.

Depay, who is Barca's top scorer with 10 goals this season, becomes a free agent in June 2023. With Premier League clubs monitoring Depay, Barca have yet to make a decision on the Dutchman's future.

The former Lyon star is happy at Barca and would like to continue at Camp Nou but Barca would be open to a transfer for a fee in the region €45m.

The Catalan giants are looking to lower their wage bill but also bring in new revenue if they want to reinforce their squad this summer. Parting company with a top player like Depay is among the options the club is considering.

11.00 BST: The Premier League has blocked Burnley's attempts to sign former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses, Sky Sports reports.

Moses, 31, plays for Spartak Moscow but with the invasion of Ukraine any foreign player in Russia has been given permission by FIFA to move outside of the transfer window.

However, the Premier League -- along with the Serie A and the Bundesliga -- have blocked clubs from registering any additional players before the summer. The EFL did give Championship team Sheffield United permission to sign Croatia international Filip Uremovic last week after he walked away from Russian club Rubin Kazan. LaLiga bosses have also been sanctioning signings.

10.11 BST: Bild reports that RB Leipzig will try to permanently move on both Brian Brobbey and Ilaix Moriba when they return from loans at the end of the season.

Brobbey, 20, moved to the Bundesliga club on a free transfer from Ajax last summer but failed to make an impression, with the striker eventually loaned back to the Dutch club in January.

And it was a similar story for the 19-year-old Moriba, with the midfielder costing €16m from Barcelona but he made only two Bundesliga appearances before being sent on loan to Valencia.

The report says that Leipzig do not see either player as part of their long-term plans

09.30 BST: AC Milan are linked with a move for Genoa's Andrea Cambiaso, according to Calciomercato.

Cambiaso, 22, is seen as a replacement for Fode Ballo-Toure, who has failed to impress since joining the club last summer.

Ballo-Toure has made only 11 appearances across all competitions, and hasn't featured since returning from Senegal's victorious Africa Cup of Nations campaign last month.

The report says that Milan feel Cambiaso can offer real competition for Stefano Pioli at left-back.

Cambiaso is out of contract in just over a year, while Milan will look for a new club for Ballo-Toure.

PAPER GOSSIP

- Everton are willing to allow England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin to leave at the end of the season, says The Sun. - Leeds United winger Raphinha has been the subject of intense speculation over his future, with a number of clubs reportedly weighing a move. Now, Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race to sign the 25-year-old, who has scored nine league goals this season. Barcelona are also said to be in contact with the Brazil international's agent.

- Aston Villa are monitoring a potential move for Inter Milan centre-back Stefan de Vrij, reports Football Insider. It claims that Villa boss Steven Gerrard is after another high-profile signing in the summer, after completing a loan move for Philippe Coutinho in January. De Vrij, 30, is set to be a free agent in 2023 and his future in Milan is uncertain.

- David Beckham and Inter Miami are eyeing as many as four Barcelona legends to take to MLS, according to Marca. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are all linked.
