LIVE Transfer Talk: PSG, Real Madrid, Man Utd have Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in sight

The summer transfer window is approaching, and there's plenty of gossip swirling about who's moving where. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings and goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Milinkovic-Savic on PSG, Real Madrid, Man United radar

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester United are interested in landing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, according to Calciomercato.

The 27-year-old midfielder has long been a standout performer for Lazio in Serie A but, after missing out on Champions League qualification this season, he could now be set to leave the Stadio Olimpico.

The Biancocelesti are looking for a transfer fee in the region of €80 million, and they believe that their demands can only be met from a club outside of Italy, with three currently at the front of the queue for his services.

Having produced 11 goals and 11 assists in 36 league matches, the Serbia international has found the best form of his career so far. But while that has helped Lazio almost certainly secure fifth place, it has also alerted clubs across Europe who could finally make their move.

22.00 BST: Juventus are close to agreeing a deal for Angel Di Maria to join them when the Argentine's Paris Saint-Germain contract ends in June, reports Corriere dello Sport. The main stumbling block is that Di Maria wants a one-year contract with the view to return to Argentina as soon as next year, while Juventus want two years. There is still confidence that a deal can be reached, while the Bianconeri have also made contact with Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic, who will also be a free agent.

21.27 BST: In an interview with with Le Parisien, 29-year-old midfielder Marco Verratti committed himself to Paris Saint-Germain, despite his contract expiring in two years' time.

"Certainly in the future, I will come to the stadium as a fan, this will always be the team of my heart. I will return to live in Paris, it is my favourite city. There will never be problems with PSG."

20.54 BST: Barcelona will accept offers including a transfer fee of between €5m and €10m for defender Oscar Mingueza, whose current contract ends in 2023, reports Mundo Deportivo. Hertha Berlin and Bordeaux showed interest in the defender during the January transfer window, while there is said to be a proposal from unnamed Bundesliga side now.

20.21 BST: Chelsea have put plans in place to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde once Todd Boehly's consortium's takeover of the club is complete and the Blues' sanctions end, according to Goal. The 23-year-old France international has a verbal agreement to move to Stamford Bridge this summer, while the Andalusian outfit are asking for a transfer fee of around £59m to sanction the deal.

19.48 BST: Torino are set to offer AC Milan a transfer fee in the region of €15m in order to secure the signing of Tommaso Pobega, reports Tuttosport. The midfielder has impressed during his loan spell with Il Toro this season, scoring four goals and assisting three more in 32 Serie A appearances.
While the offer is seen as a respectable one, the final decision will come down to Stefano Piolo and whether he wants to play Pobega moving forward.

19.15 BST: Southampton are trying to sign Manchester City pair Liam Delap and Gavin Bazunu in the summer, according to the Sun.

It is unclear whether they will try to bring in Delap on a loan or permanent move, but their intentions won't be impacted by whether Chelsea loanee Armando Broja is still with the Saints next season. An alternative is Stuttgart's Sasa Kalajdzic.

They are likely to move for a new goalkeeper if Fraser Forster's contract is not renewed ahead before it expires in June, and Bazunu is seen as an option after an impressive season on loan at Saints' bitter rivals Portsmouth. Fiorentina's Bartlomiej Dragowski is also being considered.

18.42 BST: Lazio will be signing Francesco Caputo, who has spent the season on loan at Sampdoria from Sassuolo, as backup to Ciro Immobile, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. There is said to already be an agreement that will see the 34-year-old move for a transfer fee of between €1.2m and €1.5m, depending on bonuses.

18.09 BST: Bild's Christian Falk reports that Chelsea are preparing a move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, who will be a free agent if his Camp Nou contract is not renewed before the end of June. The France international worked with Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund, and there's suggestion he could be tempted to reunite with the Blues boss, but the west London club will have to contend with hefty wage demands made to Barca reportedly in excess of €43m.

17.36 BST: Three days after earning promotion to the Bundesliga, Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of Arminia Bielefeld defender Amos Pieper. The 24-year-old arrives on a free transfer, having made more 100 appearances for the side that was unable to avoid relegation this term.

17.03 BST: According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have told goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini they won't be taking up the option to sign him permanently. The once-capped Italy international has spent the season on loan from Atalanta with a £13m option to make the move permanent, but he has not impressed Antonio Conte enough to make that happened. Spurs have been linked with West Bromwich Albion No. 1 Sam Johnstone, who will be a free agent in the summer.

16.30 BST: USMNT defender Sergino Dest has told Barcelona that he wants to stay at the club, according to Cadena SER.

Dest, 21, seemed likely to depart over the summer but has played 31 times this season and new manager Xavi may opt to keep him.

The right-back has seen interest from clubs in the Premier League, notably Chelsea who are keen on Cesar Azpilicueta instead, and also Bayern Munich.

15.33 BST: Thomas Tuchel has suggested Andreas Christensen may have played his last game for Chelsea after revealing he has not been in the right frame of mind.

The 26-year-old pulled out of last weekend's FA Cup final against Liverpool just hours before kick-off with Tuchel hinting at issues that have restricted the centre-back's availability for several weeks.

Christensen has started just one of the club's previous six matches -- a 3-0 win away at Leeds on May 11 -- as he closes in on a move to Barcelona this summer when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires.

Chelsea face Leicester City on Thursday before a final day clash against relegated Watford and Tuchel admitted his doubt over whether fans would see Christensen in action for the club again.

15.19 BST: New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag won't be looking too far for his new signings as the Daily Telegraph reports he wants to bring in Ajax pair Jurrien Timber and Lisandro Martinez.

The duo have impressed at the heart of Ajax's defender under Ten Hag and could move to Old Trafford for less than €60m between them.

Martinez, 24, and Timber, 20, are both young enough to contribute to the club for the next decade, so United feel that paying a sizeable amount may be worthwhile to land them now.

14.42 BST: Where might Robert Lewandowski end up if he leaves Bayern Munich?

14.16 BST: Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen is being tracked by Borussia Dortmund, says Bild.

Maatsen, 20, has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues and has spent time on loan at Charlton and Coventry in recent years.

Dortmund are keen to bring in a young left-back and also have Gladbach's Ramy Bensebaini and Hoffenheim's David Raum on their shortlist.

13.55 BST: Assuming they are allowed to sign players again, Chelsea are eyeing a summer transfer for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Luka Hyrylainen, says Goal.

Hyrylainen, 17, has impressed with the club's U19s and at junior level with the Finland national team this season.

Having only moved to Frankfurt from HJK Helsinki in August 2020, Hyrylainen's development has been quick and he has now caught the eye of Chelsea.

13.04 BST: England international Jill Scott is to leave Manchester City at the end of her contract this summer after eight-and-a-half years with the club.

Scott, 35, joined City in 2013 from Everton and has made 194 appearances for the club across all competitions. The midfielder, who won the Continental Cup four times, three FA Cups and one Women's Super League title, has had loan spells in recent years with Everton (2020-21) and Aston Villa (2021-22) in a bid to get more game time ahead of this summer's European Championship.

She has been named in the provisional England squad announced by Sarina Wiegman on Tuesday.

"In a way, I never thought I'd be here saying goodbye to Manchester City, but all good things come to an end eventually and I've had so many amazing memories along the way," Scott said in a statement.

12.19 BST: Manchester City are confident of further strengthening their squad this summer despite already landing striker Erling Haaland, sources have told ESPN.

City have agreed to exercise the €60m release clause in Haaland's contract at Borussia Dortmund and the 21-year-old is set to officially move to the Etihad Stadium on July 1.

But sources close to the club insist the Haaland's arrival is unlikely to be the last of the transfer window with conversations ongoing about the possibility of adding a midfielder and a full-back to the squad ahead of next season.

11.57 BST: Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club aren't willing to pay the salaries demanded by the likes of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe or Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Mbappe, 23, becomes a free agent next month and will soon announce where he is going to play next season. The France international is a target of Real Madrid and Liverpool and has an offer to continue at PSG beyond this summer, but sources have told ESPN that PSG have given up on him staying.

Haaland, 21, has agreed a €60m move to Man City in the summer and is set to earn around set to earn around €440,000-per-week, which would make him one of the top earners at the club.

Asked if Barca are interested in signing players like Mbappe or Haaland, Laporta said: "There are players in which even if we had the money to do it, we would not do it. It would distort the salary structure and our spending would shoot up again, and that cannot happen again.

"We all have to be aware of that and it is something that we are instilling in the club in all areas. You cannot go past a certain spending level. Mbappe is asking for €40m-€50m net. He wants €50m net. Mbappe is at a level of the superstars. Then neither one nor the other win the Champions League. That also has to be taken into account. We will not talk about salaries of €25m, €30m or €40m net."

Barcelona have worked hard this season on cutting down costs, including wage cuts, to reduce their negative spending limit and debts of €1.2 billion.

11.03 BST: Real Madrid are closing on one of the biggest free transfer signings ever.

10.11 BST: Brighton's Marc Cucurella could solve Manchester City's left-back issue this summer, says the Daily Mail.

Cucurella, 23, signed from Getafe for £15.4m last summer but the former Barcelona academy graduate has shown himself to be more than comfortable in the Premier League.

The Spain international could cost around £30m to sign, but City need cover as they have used Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo to replace Benjamin Mendy after he was arrested and charged on multiple counts of rape in December.

09.48 BST: Real Madrid are getting closer to signing Manchester City's Caroline Weir, the Daily Telegraph is reporting.

Weir, 26, is under contract with City until the summer and the Spanish side are confident they will secure her signature on a free transfer. The Scotland international has been nominated for FIFA's Puskas award for the last two years and was a regular starter in Gareth Taylor's side this year as the pipped Manchester United to the final Champions League spot.

The Telegraph is reporting that while there are football reasons that have enticed Weir to leave, the deals on offer from others clubs are better than what City are willing to offer.

09.32 BST: Paris Saint-Germain have given up on keeping Kylian Mbappe at the club next season and expect the forward to announce a move to Real Madrid imminently, sources have told ESPN's Julien Laurens.

There are still some details to be sorted out between Mbappe's attorney and LaLiga champions Madrid, but nothing that would prevent the deal from happening, sources added.

PSG were confident of Mbappe staying as recently as last week, sources said, and they tried everything they could to convince the 23-year-old, who was voted Ligue 1 player of the season by his peers for a third season in a row, to remain with the club after five years at the Parc des Princes.

They offered Mbappe a huge new deal, promised him a better squad for next season, offered him the captain's armband and 100% of his own image rights, according to sources.

For Mbappe, who is having the best season of his career with 25 goals and 17 assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches, it was never about money, sources said. His ambition was always to play for Real Madrid one day, and there is a feeling right now in Paris that he will fulfill his dream.

08.45 BST: Benfica sporting director Rui Pedro Braz has travelled to Argentina to negotiate the signing of River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez, Record reports.

Fernandez has shone at River, scoring eight goals and setting up five more in 18 appearances across all competitions this season.

The Lisbon outfit has identified the 21-year-old as a potential candidate to strengthen their midfield after finishing third in the league this season, 15 points behind champions Porto.

Benfica will have to make a financial effort to acquire Fernandez, who has a contract with River Plate through June 2025 and a €20m release clause.

08.00 BST: Barcelona president Joan Laporta says painful sales will not be necessary to pull off a big summer signing if they close a series of financial agreements they are working on before the end of June.

Frenkie de Jong has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou to raise money, while sources have confirmed Barca are interested in signing Robert Lewandowski, who confirmed his desire to leave Bayern Munich last weekend.

"Let [sporting advisor] Jordi Cruyff and [sporting director] Mateu Alemany work," Laporta told Catalunya Radio on Tuesday when asked about a move for Lewandowski.

"The financial situation is not great, remember. I can't give details [on signings], but we are working hard to build a competitive team. It's not easy. We are working to turn things around.

"If we manage to sort the club's finances out, which I think we will, we can pull off all the operations that we are contemplating."

ESPN revealed last week that De Jong is keen to stay at Barca despite interest from Manchester City and Manchester United. Coach Xavi Hernandez has also expressed a desire to keep the Dutch midfielder, but has conceded the club's financial situation will dictate their summer business.
