Rodriguez helps West Brom down Liverpool to top Player Power Rankings

ESPN FC's global editorial desks nominate their top weekend performers. Jay Rodriguez's brace to knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup tops our list.

1. Jay Rodriguez | West Bromwich Albion

Why he's here: The once-capped England international scored twice as West Brom managed to beat Liverpool 3-2 on Saturday and knock the Reds out of the FA Cup.

2. Toni Kroos | Real Madrid

Why he's here: Contained the phenomenal Goncalo Guedes, built Real Madrid's attacks and scored a goal to boot in Saturday's 4-1 win at Valencia.

3. Michy Batshuayi | Chelsea

Why he's here: Scored twice, and only a couple of sharp saves denied him a hat trick or more, as Chelsea eased to a 3-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle on Saturday.

4. Robert Lewandowski | Bayern Munich

Why he's here: Scored for the 10th straight home game in a row and added an assist as Bayern fought back from 2-0 down to beat Hoffenheim 5-2 on Saturday.

5. Dries Mertens | Napoli

Why he's here: Mertens scored twice as Napoli beat Bologna 3-1 on Sunday, the first time he's tallied goals in back-to-back games since Oct. 25 and 29.

6. Neymar | Paris Saint-Germain

Why he's here: The Brazilian scored a brace and added an assist as PSG beat Montpellier 4-0 on Saturday, but perhaps more importantly, looks to have finally developed a friendly rapport with teammate Edinson Cavani.

7. Kevin De Bruyne | Manchester City

Why he's here: Scored a goal with a cheeky free kick in Man City's 2-0 FA Cup win over Cardiff City, but the Belgian's full range of vision and trickery were on display.

8. Will Grigg | Wigan Athletic

Why he's here: The 26-year-old Northern Ireland international scored both goals as Wigan knocked West Ham out of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win on Saturday.

9. Alexis Sanchez | Manchester United

Why he's here: Sanchez made his Red Devil debut by registering an assist and immediately looking like Man United's most dangerous attacker in a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town on Friday.

10. Edinson Cavani | Paris Saint-Germain

Why he's here: The Uruguayan is now PSG's record goalscorer after netting his 157th for the club against Montpellier on Saturday.

Also receiving votes: Sami Khedira (Juventus), Duvan Zapata (Sampdoria), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Ivi Lopez (Levante).
