Gameweek 33 of ESPN FC Premier Fantasy ended with the 0-0 whimper that was Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton.
The rewards of doubling up with players from those two teams were scant -- only the brave/psychic who believed that Palace would keep their first clean sheet of 2016 gained much joy, particularly as Alan Pardew's men promptly made it back-to-back shut-outs for only the third time all season.
Joel Ward (£5.0m) was the pick of the Eagles' defence, hitting 17 points from a weekend assist and those two clean sheets, closely followed by Wayne Hennessey (£4.9m), who secured 16 points on the back of nine saves in two matches.
Jason Puncheon (£5.7m) scored Palace's winner against Norwich and ended the Gameweek with 14 points, while the best of the one-match performers was Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld (£7.4m), who managed 15 points from a goal and a clean sheet in the 3-0 defeat of Manchester United.
TEAM EFFORTS
If GW33's double was dull, a number of the 10 teams with two GW34 fixtures should ramp up the interest.
Manchester United, fresh from their impressive FA Cup win at West Ham, have two excellent home matchups with Aston Villa and then Palace.
Their early season solidity seems to be returning -- they've kept three clean sheets in their last four matches in all competitions -- and Villa don't look capable of halting that run.
They've managed just 11 away goals all season -- only Newcastle are more toothless on the road -- while Palace have hit six in their last three trips but didn't win any of them.
David De Gea (£6.6m) and Daley Blind (£6.7m) look to be the pick of United's defenders, while Marcus Rashford (£6.3m) is a good budget offering, with three goals in six league appearances to go with a midweek FA Cup belter.
Striker Anthony Martial (£8.4m) is United's must-have man. He is particularly deadly at home against weaker teams, scoring against Stoke, Swansea and Everton already at Old Trafford in the Premier League this year.
Arsenal are closing in on their standard top four finish for the season, and home matches with Palace and then West Brom should seal the deal.
Unbeaten in four, Hector Bellerin (£7.6m) has scored heavily in that time, securing 34 points from three assists, two clean sheets and a goal.
Midfielder Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) offers great value for a man with 29 points from two goals and two assists in just three starts, while Alexis Sanchez (£9.5m) is your must-have man. Having drawn a blank in his first five matches after returning from injury, he's now scored three and set up three more in his last five.
Manchester City are back in form and will be oozing confidence after their impressive displays against Paris St Germain.
Two away trips will not bother them, even if the first is at Chelsea.
The Londoners' season is in wind-down mode now that they've lost their unbeaten league record under Guus Hiddink. City then travel to a Newcastle side needing a miracle to stay up.
Vincent Kompany (£7.2m) could well be eased back into the starting line-up now that his calf issue seems to have improved, but Nicolas Otamendi (£6.4m) has impressed in recent weeks and looks the safer bet.
Kevin De Bruyne (£9.0m) would be a nailed-on pick, but Manuel Pellegrini could choose to use his midfield star sparingly with the Champions League his priority.
Despite missing a midweek penalty, Sergio Aguero (£10.4m) remains the must-have option. He's scored in consecutive league matches and City still need to secure their top four place.
Liverpool travel to Bournemouth ahead of an Anfield date for the Merseyside derby.
How the Reds react to their incredible victory over Dortmund remains to be seen, but their league matches are eminently winnable.
The Cherries are all but on holiday now, so could be easy pickings for a Liverpool side that has scored a fourth-best 26 goals on their travels. Everton are winless in five and can be excused for concentrating on late April's FA Cup semifinal.
Jurgen Klopp has chopped and changed in recent weeks, but Alberto Moreno (£5.8m) has started the last two matches and recorded a goal and an assist in GW33.
James Milner (£6.9m) managed two assists in the same fixture and has started a whopping 36 matches in all competitions this season, while Roberto Firmino (£8.0m) is the more dynamic option, but comes at a price.
If you fancy gambling on which striker Klopp will go for this week, Divock Origi (£6.4m) has been the man in Europe and has two goals and an assist from his last three league appearances, only one of which came as a starter. Or there's the far pricier Daniel Sturridge (£8.9m), who has started the last three in the league, scoring two and adding an assist.
Philippe Coutinho (£8.3m) was rested ahead of the Europa League second leg, but he's the main man to have on the back of two goals (and 17 points) from his last two domestic starts.
A SINGLE PUNT
Things are falling into place for Manchester City at exactly the right time, with key players returning and confidence high.
The double GW34 should see more action for one of those back from the treatment table, Samir Nasri (£6.2m).
The French international has been eased back into the fray after more than five months out with a hamstring injury, with two sub appearances and one start in all competitions.
But he's hit the ground running, with a goal and an assist to his name already, and looks likely to add at least one more start after playing the full 90 minutes in GW33.
He is also a great bet to start GW35, which is reduced to just seven fixtures. Manchester City's Champions League semifinal first leg takes place just a couple of days later but with Nasri not in the Champions League squad, he looks to be free of rotation worries.
