Transfer Rater: Carlos Soler to Man United, Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona

The Atletico Madrid forward has agreed a deal to sign for Barcelona, according to Le10Sport. The France-based outlet reports that Griezmann, also a Manchester United transfer target, has decided to leave Atleti at the end of the season but will snub an Old Trafford switch for the chance to link-up with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou. Barca are in the market for another centre-forward and the 26-year-old fits the bill as a proven international who has an impressive record in La Liga.

Leon Goretzka to Juventus

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed his interest in the Schalke midfielder. Goretzka is on the radar of several European clubs, and was subject of Liverpool transfer rumours in the summer, but Marotta is determined to steal a march by publicly declaring interest. "They are available for free at the end of the season," Marotta said, also speaking of Emre Can. "We are interested and we'll make an attempt but it all depends on their will." Goretzka, 22, has established himself as one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga following a string of impressive displays in midfield but the German club remain hopeful of convincing him to stay.

Lewis Dunk to West Ham

New West Ham manager David Moyes is targeting a move for Brighton defender Dunk as he bids to bolster the Hammers' defence. Dunk has impressed alongside Shane Duffy at the heart of the Seagulls' back four this season, helping the newly-promoted side to eighth place in the Premier League. After succeeding Slaven Bilic last week, Moyes has made strengthening the defence a priority, with the club languishing in the relegation zone after conceding 23 goals in 11 games.

Carlos Soler to Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has reportedly made the highly-rated Valencia midfielder his No. 1 January transfer target, according to The Independent. The Portuguese coach was disappointed to miss out on Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic in the summer and is determined to land the £40 million-rated star, who is enjoying a breakthrough season at the Mestalla. The Spain under-21 international has impressed United's scouts and Mourinho is keen to push for a deal, even though he expects it to be an otherwise quiet transfer window. Valencia may be forced to sell Soler because of their financial situation, recording a £23m loss this year.

Khouma Babacar to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have emerged as frontrunners to sign Fiorentina striker Babacar. Brighton and West Brom are also interested but Babacar reportedly prefers a move to London. Goal-shy Palace are in desperate need of reinforcements in attack after managing just four goals in their opening 11 games. Babacar is open to leaving La Viola for more first-team opportunities after being used mainly as a substitute this season by Fiorentina boss Stefano Pioli.
