If you happen to follow the Turkish top flight, it won't surprise you to learn that Genclerbirligi have parted company with their manager.
The Ankara-based club dismissed coach Yilmaz Vural on Tuesday after finally running out of patience with the 62-year-old. After all, he had been in charge for six whole days. Yes, you read that correctly. Six. Days.
Indeed, Vural's tenure at Genclerbirligi lasted just one game following his appointment last week -- a disappointing 2-0 defeat against the Super Lig's bottom club on Monday evening sealing his fate.
He now becomes the fifth coach to be sacked by notoriously impatient Genclerbirligi president Ilhan Cavcav since the current campaign began on Aug. 17.
According to BBC Sport, Vural also invoked the wrath of Cavcav (who has now sacked 51 coaches since he took over in 1981) for having the temerity to ask for a couple of new signings to be made in January.
Given that the club currently lie tucked inside the relegation zone having amassed just 13 points from their opening 17 matches, it doesn't seem overly unreasonable -- but hey ho, such is football these days.
