Ex-Arsenal ace Andrey Arshavin cuts blogger's hair after winning bet

Having made his name at Zenit St Petersburg and Arsenal during his pomp, Andrey Arshavin is currently plugging his way towards retirement over in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

Now 35, the veteran Russian forward has actually managed to claw back a modicum of form, scoring his fair share of goals in his maiden season at FC Kairat.

Indeed, Arshavin's goal-scoring exploits have also allowed him to get his own back on a local blogger who prematurely wrote him off as an expensive flop at the beginning of the campaign.

Kazakh journalist Peter Volikova declared he would gladly shave his head if Arshavin scored seven goals for Kairat.

Eight goals later, Volikova met with his fate at a shopping centre in Almaty where he was promptly relieved of his hair by a grinning Arshavin and his trusty scissors.

It didn't take long for camera footage of the event to start appearing on YouTube either.

From the deeply sullen look on Volikova's face, it would appear that he's been suitably humbled by the whole ordeal.
